Chapter 9

Gossips do spread fast. The rumour that Ian has a girlfriend was hitting the top spot in the gossip lists for that week. Everywhere I went I heard the same talk. Few people were even discussing about how the girlfriend looks. Let me tell you; she was about his shoulder height, biker chick attire (as they call it), looked red hot!

Did I now?

The fact that they are considering me as his girlfriend is annoying. But the part that they didn't recognise me was too relieving. What if Ray was smarter than that and figured me out? I would be facing the whole school with my little secret out exposed. Arch and Meg came to know about the girl being me after two days coz they knew that he barely has any contacts with anyone in this town and that the only possible option was me.

"You nailed it Jean. Imagine if you came to school looking that way. Kate would go insane!" Arch laughed walking along with me to the class.

"I can only imagine," I smirked.

"Hey there loser!" the high pitched sound welcomed me.

I looked at her square in the face.

"What's with that shirt of yours? Is it your grand pa's?" the girls laughed on her cue.

I sighed. This is never gonna change.

"Why don't you leave her alone Kate?" Arch spoke up.

"Oh look! Someone is trying to save the damsel in distress!" she gasped in fake shock. "Am I supposed to get scared coz of your bravado loser?"

Arch balled his fists and I held his hand from punching her face and breaking her nose.

"Oh look! The nerd is holding up the loser from breaking lose. How romantic," she rolled her eyes.

If she wasn't gonna stop now I myself was personally gonna give her a black eye she would remember her whole life.

"What do you want Kate?" I finally spoke up. After a whole year of being quiet and letting her step all over me, I finally spoke up.

"Hey look! The nerd can talk!" she hollered and everyone laughed. "Really nerd? I thought that you were mute all these days!"

"Let's go Jean," Arch pulled me by my arm and shoved me in my seat.

After being around Ian for so many days, my kick ass attitude was crawling back on me and I was finding it difficult to keep up with my nerdy behaviour. Part of me was willing to keep quiet and let the moment pass and the other part of me wants to smack her head to the wall till her head cracks open and she bleeds to death.

I smirked to myself at the thought of cracking her head open with my bare hands. How wonderful will that moment be?

"And the bravado dies down. How mighty!" she chuckled at us as a cue for her minions to laugh out loud.

"Trust me Kate, if I let my bravado stay any longer than this, I'm sure you will suffer extreme consequences," Arch smirked causing me to smile like a psyco and she took a step back. Is she scared?

"What do you mean? And what is with that creepy smile of yours?" she frowned clearly scared.

"You don't wanna know Kate," Arch smirked.

"I don't even wanna see your faces," she scrunched her nose in disgust and walked away.

"What the hell do you think you were doing?" I elbowed Arch's stomach playfully with a smile playing on my lips.

"Trying to save my damsel in distress."

"Oh yeah? She is not a damsel in distress and she can take care of herself."
