Chapter 15
Uncle Luke and dad were pleased listening to my so called achievement with Kate and school and mom said nothing. It seemed like she was holding back a smile, but never mind.
But the saddest part was Uncle Luke were all going back to their town and this was the end of my time with Jesse and Jordan. I really expected them to stay a little while longer and that we all could hang out together.
They left that evening and I was so sad. Wish they'd come by soon to meet me again.
A few days after that little incident with Kate, everyone began giving me weird looks and I didn't know why. It's not like I did a crime of any sort!
No one dared to go past me, nor did call me names from then. I saw people pointing towards me and gossiping things, but do I look like I care?
Megan and Arch showered me with questions as soon as they found out about me and Kate and didn't leave me until I told everything word to word to them. Well, they were happy for me but they also wanted me to change back into my former self. No way in hell am I ever gonna do that! I already blew half of my cover. They didn't have to see the other half of me!
"Hey! Jean!" I heard a voice screaming out my name in the hallway. Ian would never do that, he loves sneaking up on me. Then who is it?
I turned around to see a sweaty, but hot looking Ray panting in front of me.
Pinch me!
"R-Ray?" my eyeballs nearly popped out.
"Yeah, it's me. What's up with you?"
"No-nothing much," I gulped. Really Jean? Is this how you speak to your crush? You were far better with Blake back then!
"Nothing?"
"Uh-huh. Why are you here with your jersey?"
He is the football captain, duh!
"Well, I'm back from practice and was going to the boy's locker room, but I found you!" he shot his dazzling smile.
I clearly remember why he is my crush now.
"Oh," was all I could say.
"Yeah, so I was wondering, what are you doing after school today?"
I raised my brows, "After school?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Thought that we could hang out together?"
What the hell!
The Ray Cunningham was asking me if I could hang out with him?
"Uh... well... I..."
"It's okay if you don't want to!"
"No!" I yelled, "I'd love to!"
Who in this big wide damn world would have the heart to decline his request?
"Well then Jean, meet you in the lot after school?"
"Yeah!" I smiled timidly.
What in the world is up with me and my timidness? I was never like this! A part of me was screaming that this hanging out thing is a bad idea but I supressed it for now. I mean, out of all the things, what could happen just by hanging out?
And that too with my crush?
I stared after Ray dreamily as he made his way to the boy's locker room.
"We witnessed something!" Arch sang cheerily and Meg frowned coming to us.
"What?" I pouted slightly, folding my hands trying to look stern.
