"Details!" Meg almost screeched in my ear as soon as I got out of my car.
Well, that was quick. I thought that I could escape her if I came early to school.
"Well?" she folded her hands, her expression, expectant.
"Where's Arch?" I asked, hoping to divert the topic.
"Don't talk about that moron!" she rolled her eyes.
I frowned, expecting her to tell me more about her sudden annoyance.
"What?" she snapped.
"Are you PMSing, Meg?" I asked with a straight face and earned myself a well deserved slap on my arm. "Ouch! That hurt!" I rubbed the stinging place.
"I am not!" she sighed. "He was out on another date yesterday."
"So?" I asked. Why was she always so pissed off when he was on a date? It was a routine though. She never really liked any of his date tales. The times he got dumped was a little too disturbing.
"He got dumped and was really very sad. I already warned him about that girl, but he wouldn't listen! Guess he took her a little too seriously," she sighed.
Megan was a little hot tempered, but she was good at heart. She was always so concerned about her friends but Arch always took her for granted. If she leaves him to fend for himself one day, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. She had her share of being patient with him. I just hope that he realises it soon enough.
"Is he okay? Is he going to come to school?" I asked. I never saw Arch getting depressed, but hey, even he is a human!
"He will," she offered a slight smile, "anyway, we are straying away from the current topic of discussion! The Details!" she emphasised.
"We had fun like two normal best friends," I shrugged.
"Then why do I sense something fishy?" she smirked at me.
"Fishy?" I bellowed back. "There is nothing fishy."
"Mmm hmm," she rolled her eyes, "as you say."
"Ladies," we heard a voice behind us and turned to find Nate.
"Nate!" I exclaimed. "How are you?"
"I am good. Was just missing you," he pouted.
Wasn't he the epitome of cuteness?
"Hey, beautiful," he grinned at Megan and she blushed.
Megan actually blushed! Can you believe that? Looks like something's cooking!
"Hey," she slowly looked up to meet his eyes. Wow, how so stereotypical!
"Anyway, Jean, let's have lunch together today and let's not miss you there, beautiful," he smirked at Meg. "And yeah, the girls have a match against the guys in about three weeks. I was informed to tell you the same."
"Can't you just tell the same in the practice today?" I rolled my eyes. "I am not captain here!"
"I don't wanna get caught by that weird captain of yours," he shuddered.
"Lily?" I asked.
"Yeah, whatever her name is. She is too clingy and won't let go until someone pries her off!"
"Looks like she likes you!" I said in a sing song voice.
"She likes the whole damn school!" he rolled his eyes, making us laugh. "Anyway, I have to leave and beautiful, be with us at lunch?"
