Imagine meeting Damon and Stefan when they were humans.
Mystic Falls, 1864
Today was a new day. You were a vampire living in a human world. Human's were naive, careless, stupid and some were, sort of, attractive. You had found one of those sort of attractive humans. Two to be exact. Stefan and Damon Salvatore. Both were brothers and both were extremely handsome. You had them wrapped around your finger and anything you wanted, you got. Today you would be seeing both, but you were afraid it would be your last time.
"Miss Y/N may I have a minute with you?"
Stefan was very sweet, courteous and extremely shy.
"You may."
You replied with a sweet smile, in which Stefan returned.
"There's a ball this evening and you're invited."
Stefan handed you an envelope with a rose stamp on the back. Stefan had courteously left the room for you to read the letter in peace. It read,
To whom it may concern,
You are invited to this evening's ball held in the Lockwood mansion.
Ball starts at 7pm
Please join us in the celebration of our founders.

You placed the invitation on your wooden desk and headed downstairs before you locked yourself in your room with your maid to get ready for the ball.
When you got downstairs you bumped into none other than Damon Salvatore.
"Pardon me."
Damon smirked,
"My fault entirely miss Y/N."
You walked past him in search of your maid only to find that the reason Damon was here was because his father and Johnathan Gilbert were doing a check for vampires. You walked into the living room where the men were and politely asked,
"Pardon my interruption but may I ask what's going on?"
The men stopped and looked at you lovingly and answered,
"We figure there are vampires in our midst. You would tell us if you had seen any?"
You smiled faintly and nodded,
"Of course. Anything to keep this town safe."
They both nodded and continued on. You knew it was time to move somewhere else, they were getting too close to finding you and you weren't sure you liked that idea. But on the other hand you were going to miss the Salvatore brothers extremely. It was a decision you would have to make sooner or later. You weren't going to go to the ball tonight. You would rather stay at home and ponder about what to do.
***THE NEXT DAY***
You walked into the store looking for something, anything, to get you out of the house. Going to the store was that something. Enjoying the day was going to be extremely hard since you had to decide when and how you would explain to the Salvatore brothers that you would be leaving. If that wasn't hard enough, the last person you would expect to see was here. And her name was Katerina. She saw you and vamp sped to you and covered your mouth before you could say anything. You two knew each other from way back.
"It's Katherine now and you have to keep quiet about knowing me."
You were still confused but gave a simple nod to show your understanding.
"I'll see you around."
She walked out of the store leaving you confused and flustered. Why was she here and what did she want?
