There She Goes

Chapter 2

Demi's POV

 The next day...

I bring Delilah into Eagle Rock on with Simon. We walked down several long hallways before pausing at her class. Apparently her teacher's name is Ms. Carlson. She stands by the door greeting parents and children one by one.  She is an older woman. I'd say she's at least 55. Based on her appearance and nature, she seems like a motherly type. That's great to be honest because it shows that she is compassionate towards children. The last thing we want is for our daughter to have a teacher who has  a low tolerance for children.

Ms. Carlson greets us next with a warm smile. She shakes Simon's hand and mine. "Ah just the two I was excited to meet. I'm big fans of both of yours." I smile. "That's very kind of you. This is our daughter Delilah. She just turned four last week." Ms.Carlson bends down and Delilah hugs her instantly. "She's just precious. I can tell she's going to be a good addition to the class. She'll make friends in no time." The bell rings, indicating that it's time for school to start. "I'm sorry to separate you guys from her so soon, but class is starting now. I'll give you a moment to say goodbye and then Delilah needs to come in."

Simon speaks to Delilah first. "Honey, you're a big girl now, which means you get to go to school. You'll learn lots of cool things and play with kids. Doesn't that sound like fun?" Delilah nods excitedly. We both laugh. I step up next. "We're proud of you honey and hope you like school. We love you." She kisses both of us. "I love you too mommy and daddy. Bye bye." We watch her walk into the class all by herself and continue to wave as she looks back a couple more times before sitting down at her desk.

A tear slips down my cheek and Simon catches it. "Demi, she'll be fine. I could tell by the way she eagerly bobbed her head that she wants to be here. Plus, Ms. Carlson was very nice. Delilah belongs at Eagle Rock. Now let's go run those errands and we'll see her again before we know it." I nod and let him lead me to the car.
