Chapter 6

Demi's POV

  That afternoon....

    Delilah comes running out to the car after the 2:30 bell with a group of giggling girls in tow. They must be some new friends she has made. I greet them all with smiles. "Mommy, this is Kelly, Amy, and Kiara. This is my mommy guys." They all hug me at full force. I laugh and hug them back. I can tell they're sweet girls right off the beat. "It's nice to meet you guys. Could you like to play with Delilah at our house?" They nod eagerly and help them get into the car. I'm lucky I happen to have a few spare car seats in the car. 

     15 minutes later...

     I let the girls into the house. They run in hand in hand. It never ceases to amaze me just how much energy children have. The first thing do is grab leftover pizza out of the fridge to eat. This is the first time I've been able to eat today. Simon is at work so he won't be home for a few hours. I guess that's a good thing because I know he'd only have limited patience to deal with four energetic little girls. 

     They spend the few hours doing homework, coloring, dancing, and eating several snacks. Despite having to clean the messes they have made, it's all worth it to seeing Delilah making friends and enjoying school. Some children hate school, but I can see clear as day that she is not going to be one of those children.

      I drop Kelly, Amy, and Kiara off one by one. In doing so, I get to meet of their parents. They're all lovely people. Out of all of them though, I personally liked Kiara's the best. Her parents have an age difference like Simon and I. Her mother is 30 and her father is 50. It's nice to feel like Simon and I are the only couple with a huge age difference out there.
