Chapter 30

Demi's POV 

A month later...

    Simon has recovered amazingly over the past month. His post-op check up three weeks ago went well and concluded that he's in the clear for now, which was excellent news. Also, Simon no longer needs to use the walker to help him walk. He still uses the cane here and there, but mainly on bad days.  

      Anyways, Simon has been a bit grumpy today because I've reminded him that his birthday is in two days. Most people usually enjoy their birthdays, but Simon is moping because he's going to be sixty. He feels as though a youngster like me shouldn't be with an old man like him. Well the reality is once you are of legal age or in other words an adult, age is just a number. I've always been fond of Simon even before I fell in love with him. Delilah, Nick, the boys of One Direction, and I are going to make his birthday really special. I include the boys of One Direction because they are like sons to Simon and have been so loyal to him over the years.

Simon's POV

   I keep telling Demi not to make a big deal about my birthday but she insists that we have a party at Nick's house. I mean our place is incredible, but Nick's has a massive game room with all sorts of tricks in it that Delilah loves. Considering that there will be all adults at the party besides her, she will need some way have fun. If she chooses to go swimming, Nick has a pool that she's comfortable with which is great. 

    I'm just going to take this all in stride. As long as Demi talks about other subjects besides my age and party, I'll cave in and try to enjoy it. If she goes on and on, then I might not be attending my own party. We'll see what happens.
