Delilah's First Day Went Well
Chapter 3
Simon's POV
That afternoon...
I dropped Demi at home to rest because she was so exhausted after four hours straight of running errands. She plopped down the second she got home on to the couch so I volunteered to pick up Delilah on my own. The 2:30 bell rings and she comes running to me instantly. I laugh, pick her up, and spin her around a few times. "Hey supergirl. How was your first day?" She tries to answer but keeps on giggling.
"I had a good day daddy. I made some friends. We colored and ate food." I buckle her into her car seat. "That's great sweetie. What did you color?" She bites her lip in the same way Demi does. It's so cute. "A bunny. His name is Jeff." "That's a great name for a bunny. In fact, I'll put the picture of the frig as soon as we get home. Does that sound good?" Delilah bobs her head up and down three times.
15 minutes later...
We arrive home and Delilah runs past me over to Demi. Demi is all smiles as Delilah shows her the picture of the bunny. Demi places it center stage on the fridge with some car shaped magnets. They were a gift from her cousin Madison. I think Madison thought we were having a boy at one point, but cars can be gender neutral.
Anyways, I'm glad that Delilah enjoyed her first day of school. I had no doubt in the back of my mind that she wouldn't. Delilah is just a ball of joy. It's impossible not to love her and constantly be near her. I just hope the rest of the year goes well.
