Two Weeks
Chapter 32
Demi's POV
Later that evening....
I finally get home with Delilah at nine that night. I notice that the boys of One Direction are here when I unlock the door. They're all gathered around the TV with Simon watching The Voice. They love watching other singing shows to compare them to X Factor and America's Got Talent. When they hear Delilah and I come, the boys welcome us with open arms except for Simon who turns away a bit. He's been acting off all day today. I need a moment alone to him to see what's what. "Delilah go upstairs and change into your pajamas. I'll be up soon." She follows my instructions. "Simon can I talk to you for a minute?" He doesn't respond. Louis is the first one to intervene. "Simon, Demi was asking you a question." He shakes his head. "Sorry I zoned out. Yes we can talk Demi." I lead him onto the back porch.
"Simon, I can tell you're not feeling well, but I also know there's more to it then that as to why you've been acting so strange today. What's going on with you?" He sighs. "Demi I have been a bit sick today but the real reason why I left the party so fast is because all everyone was doing was talking about how old I am. It's one thing for you to call me old man here and there, but it's another thing to constantly be reminded that I'm older than a lot of fathers and that I might not be around as long as them to talk care of my daughter. You don't have to deal with that Demi because you're still a child compared to me."
I gasp. "I am not a child Simon. I'm twenty six years old. I'm responsible and have had to deal with a lot in just a short amount of time. As for you Simon, you need to realize that you are getting older. We all are. No one is trying to make you feel bad. In fact, everyone is amazed at well you do for someone your age. Not many people your age have successful careers and actually want to start a family. You're special Simon and all we are doing is trying to get you to realize that so I'm sorry if we went about things the wrong way."
"It's okay Demi. I know that you didn't mean to be hurtful by any of it along with the rest of the boys. I just need to do something to remind me that I've still got it. Maybe go on an adventure or something." A smile forms on my face. "Let's go on a family vacation. Delilah, you, and me. We can go anywhere you want." He looks at me in shock. "Are you serious?" "I'm quite serious Simon. You pick a place and I'll book reservations right now." He pauses to think about it. "Let's go to London. I've seen your home in Texas, but I want to show you around mine some more. I know you've been there before during touring and never got to sight see. It's a beautiful city with so much meaning behind it." I smile. "That sounds wonderful. London it is. School vacation is coming up after next week so I'll make reservations for two weeks from today at London's finest hotel." "This is going to be great Demi." I kiss him on the cheek. "I know love. I can't wait."
