Demi's POV
A year later...
It's been a year since I've cut Nick out my life.Also, Simon is now 61, I am now 27, and Delilah is now 6. Nick ended up coming out of his coma like state and recovered. He's been in therapy for a few months now, which I'm glad about. I'm not letting him back in my life, but I'm glad he's still alive to live his. I wouldn't have been able to cope if he died. I would have felt as though I caused him to kill him himself and I would never be able to live with that.
Delilah is also in second grade now. She ended up skipping first grade because of how smart she is. I'm so proud of my baby girl. If she keeps this up, she'll be able to do anything in life she puts her mind to. As for me, I'm finally releasing my next album next month and going on tour again at the end of year. I've even taken up a side project of scouting new talent and playing more of a role in producing as well as performing. It's rewarding to help other young singers make their dreams come true. Simon on the other hand continues to thrive with his record company. He now has 20 locations and signs artists like there's no tomorrow. He also still judges on America's Got Talent.
Our little family has blossomed from a cute brook to a rolling river. We've come so far. The whole Nick thing didn't ruin Simon and I's marriage in the slightest. Neither did any of the chaos longer before that. We will continue to make sure the rest of Delilah's childhood is a happy one and will support her future endeavors until the very end. That's what good parents do. Like Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters in Fault In Our Stars says "I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up my friend", which applies to all of us.
