Tara's POV:

Liam and I drove to the police station. I wasn't sure if I could finally get out of this. I hoped that they would be able to lock him away for a while. Maybe life. I was so scared.

Liam opened the door for me and I hesitated to walk through.

"Go on, it'll be fine. I'll be with you the whole time." He encouraged.

I held onto my arm nervous as ever. There were so many people there. A lot of men and women in police suits. There were people who looked like they haven't showered in years. There was a mother sitting with her daughter in her lap. The little girl was sleeping but the mother seemed alert.

"Ma'am? Are you in need of any assitance?" A lady officer asked.

I looked back at Liam unsure if I was ready.

"Uh, she needs to speak to a- um, Detective Evans." He said.

"Detective Evans? Why do I need to speak to a specific detct-?" I started to ask him.

I remembered the officer that came to Liam's flat.

"Alright just wait here I will retrieve him." She said walking away sorting through the papers she had in her hands.

"We should probably sit down." Liam suggested.

He put his hand on my back and let me lead the way.

There were two seats available. My leg was shaking up and down. I kept thinking about the future. I thought about how it would be without Jackson in my life, or anyone elses for that matter. Or what if he got off. Would he try to kill me? Would he hurt me more? All these thoughts were processing through my brain. I grew very anxious. I tried to take a deep breath and calm down.

"Tara, everything is going to workout. You're going to get through this. Babe, you shouldn't be so worried about it. It's not good for you." He said resting his hand on my knee.

"I don't know. What if he gets off. He's done it before. What if he tries to come after me? He's very much capable of doing that." I panicked.

"He's not going to come after you. I will never let that happen." Liam assured.

"Tara Blake?" A medium sized man asked.

"Um, yes?" I answered looking over at Liam.

"Mr. Payne" he greeted polietly to Liam. "I'm Detective Evans, I just want to ask you a few questions. If you will follow me?"

I rose from the chair and followed him. Liam stayed sitting which made me even more on edge.

"I can't go back there, but I promise you'll be fine. Don't be so nervous." Liam encouraged.

I followed Detect. Evans into a conservative room. It had a table in the middle of it. With a file cabinet sitting next to a window.

"So, Tara. Can I first ask how are you feeling?" He said pulling the chair out for me.

"Massively nervous." I admitted trying to laugh it off. It only made me sound more nervous.

"Do you need any water? Tea?" He asked

"No. No, I'm fine, but thank you." I grabbed my arm again. It gave me a sense of comfort.

"Tara, do you remember the day when you went to the cinema?" He asked sitting down.

"Yes. I do." I shortly answered.

"Can you explain what happened?" He asked, getting straight to the point.
