Liam's POV:

"Liam Payne?"

"Yes?" I answered. I was standing at the door staring at an officer.

"I am Detective Evans, I just want to ask a few questions about Tara Blake. The doctor at the hospital said you would be of help to this case?"

I looked back at my room. Tara was standing between the crack. "Uh. Come in. Please sit down." I suggested. He obliged. "If you'll excuse me for a moment."

I made my way to my room. Tara had moved away from the door.

"Who was at the door?" She asked sitting down on the bed.

"He's a detective. He wants to know about you." I explained

"Are you going to tell him anything? Does he know I'm here? Should I leave?" She asked frantically jumping up from the bed.

I held her by her shoulders. "Shh. Calm down. I won't tell him anything if you don't want me to."

"I don't know Liam. I reckon this won't help anything."

"It wouldn't hurt if we tried." I half smiled.

I could tell she didn't want to. She kept looking around. Fiddling with her fingers.

"I'll only be a couple minutes. Jackson can't do anything to you any more. Not when you're with me. You're safe."

Her lips pursed together as she began to cry. I hated seeing her in pain. I began to talk softly to her.

"Hey. Look at me. I'll keep you safe. As long as you stay by my side.." I assured

I was suddenly pulled in for a hug. I tried not to touch her back. But I kissed the top of her head. This was a better feeling than anything else I've ever felt. Just standing there with her arms around my waist, and her head resting on my chest. Time was still, as were we.

"I can't keep him waiting much longer." I said partially laughing.

She sniffled, "Yeah. You're right"

"It'll be quick. I promise... How's your back?" I asked before stepping out.

"Dry." She said

"Are going to remove it by yourself or do you need help?" I winked, secretly hoping she would need help.

"I'm just going to shower. I think it'll come off."

"Alright." I smiled and walked out of the door.

"Is there someone else here that I need to know about?" The detctive asked.

"No. No one of importance."

He nodded and pulled out a notepad.

"Mr. Payne I understand that you were the one who called 999 when Ms. Blake was attacked?"

"Yes." I replied

"Can you descibe what happened?"

"I was leaving the cinema when I heard her screaming for someone to help her."

"Did you see the attacker at the scene?"

"No, he got away before I got there."

I was debating whether I should tell him that Tara remembers that it was Jackson.

"How did you get that cut beneath your eye?" He asked

I hadn't quite seen my condition when I got home from fighting Jackson.

"Uh, a boxing match, that got a little too carried away." I fake laughed.

He still looked suspicious. I heard the shower going. I'd much rather have a cuddle with Tara than be talking to a detective.
