"Can't you find me a girl?" Maddox sighed, looking through the resumes Eli put in front of him. All 3 belonged to guys who wanted to be his assistant. "An ugly one?"

"Illegal," Eli rolled his eyes. "Look, Maddox, you've already refused to interview almost 30 other people. Tim and I have already talked to these 3. Can you at least think about them?"

"What if I keep you at your same salary and you stay my assistant?"

"Dax, you know I adore you, and sometimes I still believe the sun shines out of that ridiculously tight perky ass of yours, but seriously," Eli sighed. "I want a real job. I'm done being the fangirl who follows you around to get your coffee and do your grocery shopping."

"I've been to a grocery store twice now," Maddox knew he was losing.

"Interviews. Today. Please just try for me," Eli begged.

"Fine, I'll try," Maddox sighed. "But find some girls just in case, okay? Are you allowed to ask how much they weigh? Or for pictures?"

"Ew, no. Get through these guys and if you can honestly tell me not one of them will be able to handle you, and it has nothing to do with their looks, I will find more candidates."

"Okay," Maddox agreed. He looked at the resumes and compared them to Eli's notes so he knew what he was looking for. "But seriously, maybe Brent should be part of this."

"He's not going to work for Brent, he's going to work for you. Are you ready? The first one is waiting."

"Yeah, fine," Maddox leaned back in his chair at the conference table and tried not to be annoyed. He'd tried to get out of having an assistant at all but everyone agreed he needed at least one, maybe two.

As soon as Maddox saw the first guy he knew it would never work. Eli asked most of the questions and Maddox pretended to take notes but all he wrote down was "messy." They only talked for 20 minutes before Eli ended the interview.

"I know you'll like the next guy," Eli said when he saw the name. Maddox made himself smile. "Don't give me your fake smile, trust a little, okay?"

"I'm trying," Maddox insisted. He waited while Eli went to get the second guy. They were both laughing when they came in and Maddox knew he was in big trouble.

"Maddox, this is Hunter."

Maddox stood up to shake Hunter's hand. He tried not to notice how Hunter was exactly Brent's type but when he saw Hunter's gorgeous eyes Maddox nearly died.

"Nice to meet you," Maddox sounded way more relaxed than he felt.

This interview lasted over an hour and felt much more like they were hanging out as friends instead of trying to decide if Hunter could really handle being Maddox's assistant.

"Dax, do you have any more questions?"

"Yeah," Maddox licked his lips nervously. "I'm probably not allowed to ask this."

"Maddox, you promised," Eli sighed.

"It's important."

"It's cool, ask me anything," Hunter said.

"Okay, well, you know I have a boyfriend. And we're pretty serious. But let's say we're on tour and I get drunk and lonely or mad at Brent or whatever and I try to hook up with you. What's going to keep you from just going with it?"

"Honestly?" Hunter raised his eyebrows and grinned. "I think you're hot as fuck, and it would probably be really hard for me to say no, especially if you get drunk and throw yourself at me. But if you're telling me you're completely off limits then I will make sure I don't put myself in any situations where I can't stop myself. If it's important to you, I'll make it important to me and we can figure out the best way to keep it from being a problem."
