"Wes?" a voice asked.
Wes sat up. He'd dreaded this moment all weekend. Luke had gone back to college and he was alone again. As much as he'd tried to be okay with it, Wes ended up crying as soon as he was back in his room.
"Hey," Wes cleared his throat. He sounded awful. It was obvious, had to be.
"Ky said to come up," Joel said. "Uh, are you okay?"
"Yeah," Wes shrugged. But even hearing Joel use his mom's name so easily made him think of Luke and how he had a hard time not calling her Mrs. Kent. "No, I don't know."
"What happened?" Joel asked.
"Nothing," Wes said. "Luke went back to school, that's all."
"Oh," Joel didn't look worried anymore. "Well, here's the baby. See you at school."
"Wait," Wes protested. "Can we talk?"
"There's nothing to say, Wes," Joel said.
"Please, stop being mad," Wes said. "You knew I had a boyfriend. I didn't ask him to show up."
"Come on," Joel rolled his eyes. "Are you crying?"
"Not that you care," Wes rubbed his face into his shoulder. "Just leave now."
"Shh, I'm not leaving now," Joel sighed and closed the distance between them, hugging Wes. "I'm sorry, Wes, I was just acting like a jealous prick."
"Yeah, you were," Wes mumbled into his shoulder. He sighed and put his arms around Joel too.
"Did you have a good weekend?" Joel asked.
"Yes," Wes nodded. "I'm just sad it's over."
"I saw you at the dance, you two are really cute together," Joel said.
"Thanks," Wes said. He sniffled. "You smell nice."
"That's the Davidoff," Joel said. "I knew you'd like it."
"It's good on you," Wes shrugged and sat up. "I do not want to go back to school tomorrow, ugh."
"I never want to go back to school," Joel laughed. "Wanna see what I did last night?"
"You have pictures this time?" Wes raised his eyebrows. Joel handed over his phone so Wes could see. "Wow, he's pretty hot."
"I know," Joel grinned. "He's been texting me all day, maybe something will actually happen this time."
"Maybe," Wes knew better than to get his hopes up. Joel's random guys never ended up as anything more than a one time thing.
"And of course I know how you spent your whole weekend," Joel took his phone back. "I bet Luke's a crazy fuck. Nice guys always are."
"He has his moments," Wes smiled.
"That means yes," Joel said. He nudged Wes. "Tell me."
"Tell you what?" Wes asked.
"Everything? I don't know," Joel laughed. "I want details! Like how many times you made him ride it this weekend."
"Oh," Wes looked away. "Well..."
"No!" Joel gasped. "Wesley, no."
"What?" Wes had a feeling he was getting red.
"You're a bottom?" Joel demanded. "I never would have guessed."
