"This feels like deja vu," Tim joked as he put a thick folder in front of everyone at the conference table.
"We hope this goes a little differently this time," Monroe glanced at Jeff before looking over at Brent.
"I think we all do," Brent shrugged and opened his folder. Maddox tried not to react to the way Brent talked to his managers but he was a little relieved to see him finally sticking up for himself.
"So we all understand what we're doing today, right?" Tim asked. "Maddox, you with us this time?"
"Yes, I won't let anyone distract me today," Maddox grinned at Brent. "No surprises this time."
"Okay, good," Tim nodded. "You have our first draft of this contract in your folder. I think you've all read through it already but take a minute to review and then we can start making changes."
Maddox skimmed through the copy of the contract that was in his folder just to make sure it was the same as what Tim had emailed him. He and Brent had been up most of the night going through the whole thing and making their changes together. Maddox pulled his copy with all of his notes out of his notebook and slid it down the table to Tim.
"I think I liked you two better as horny little boys," Tim sighed, flipping through Maddox's corrections.
"We're just smart and horny these days," Maddox laughed. "Look, all we want is to be allowed to have our relationship without any stupid restrictions."
"No one wants to restrict you," Jeff spoke up. "The point is to protect your careers."
"And our point is that we want to put our relationship ahead of our careers," Brent told him. "I'm nothing without Maddox."
"Okay, so let's work through this," Tim interrupted. Maddox gave him a thankful look. The tension between Brent and his managers was really bad.
It took several hours to finally produce something everyone was happy with but by the time they left, Maddox was sure he and Brent had exactly what they wanted.
"Let's go make out at Starbucks," Maddox joked as they walked off the elevator holding hands.
"We don't have to go that far," Brent laughed.
"I was kidding."
"I was talking about how far it would be to find a crowd," Brent gestured to the small crowd of fans waiting outside. "Last chance, we could lie to them and say we're doing another song together."
"Fuck that," Maddox pulled Brent closer.
"I agree," Brent kissed Maddox's cheek as they walked through the door. The screams were incredible, especially since it was such a small group of people. Maddox and Brent posed for pictures and signed autographs for everyone, answering all their questions.
"Can you watch us make out?" Brent laughed, repeating a fan's question. "Damn you girls are creepy."
"Just don't gif this," Maddox grabbed Brent and kissed him hard. He almost expected Brent to pull away but Brent just dug his fingers into Maddox's back, kissing him just as hard.
"Don't move," Brent pleaded when they stopped kissing a few seconds later. Maddox smirked at him and Brent hid his smile in Maddox's shoulder.
"I should get you home and take care of that," Maddox whispered, kissing Brent's cheek. "I never knew you liked being watched so much."
"I didn't know either," Brent finally stepped away and Maddox turned to Steve who motioned for the rest of the security guards to help them get through the crowd.
