Aiden leaned back at his desk and looked down at his phone. He had 22 texts from Scarlett that he hadn't read yet, all from the last 5 minutes. Rolling his eyes, he shoved his phone back in his desk. Must be nice doing whatever you wanted all the time.

"Aiden, bring it here," his teacher held her hand out. "You know the rule."

"I just looked at it, I didn't use it," Aiden pointed out.

"No phones means no phones," his teacher said. Aiden sighed and got up to bring her his phone. He could already see the look on his mom's face when he told her she'd have to go get his phone from his teacher again.

Lunch couldn't get there fast enough. Aiden caught himself looking over at the table where Scarlett usually sat. Her friends noticed him, of course, and they all started giggling and whispering.

"Why don't they just come talk to you?" Aiden's friend Dean asked. "Maybe if they didn't act so weird they'd actually get somewhere."

"Yeah, I'm just too intimidating," Aiden grinned. "Besides, they all want me, it would just be a fight."

"Whatever," Dean laughed. "Who would win though?"

"Good question," Aiden said. He started to look at the girls' table again but as he looked that way he noticed Wes sitting by himself at an empty table. "What the hell?"

"Oh, yeah," Dean looked at the other guys. "Didn't you hear?"

"No," Aiden frowned.

"Okay, I know he's your cousin or whatever, but he's kinda weird," Dean said. "My brother said he got some kid expelled for fighting even though he was in the fight too."

"Yeah, I know," Aiden sighed. "Wes isn't weird around me though. Scoot over."

"What?" Dean looked like he'd rather be sick.

"Scoot over, I'm going to get him," Aiden stood up, not waiting to make sure Dean moved. He would, he did anything Aiden said to do.

Wes didn't seem to notice Aiden coming over to him. He was eating his sandwich, no crusts- like he was a kid, and staring at the table.

"Hey squirt," Aiden nudged him. "Why are you eating alone?"

"Cause I want to," Wes said.

"Fuck that, come sit with me," Aiden said.

"That's okay," Wes shrugged.

"Don't be weird, come on," Aiden grabbed Wes' bag.

"Hey," Wes protested but he followed Aiden back to his table.

Just as Aiden thought, Dean had moved over so Wes could sit next to Aiden. Aiden sat down again and Wes sat next to him, not really looking at the other guys.

"You know everyone, right Wes?" Aiden asked. Wes nodded. "Good."

"You're in Miss Crosby's class, right?" Jonah asked.

"Yeah," Wes said, just looking at Jonah for a second. Maybe Dean was right, maybe Wes was acting weird.

"She's so hot, I wish I were in her class," Jonah said. "You must love it."

"I don't know," Wes shrugged.

"Are you kidding? I've heard you can see down her shirt!" Dean said.
