Scarlett closed her laptop and reached for her planner to cross off the last few assignments she was supposed to turn in that day.

"Do you even know what year it is?" Aiden made a face at her.

"I can't hear you over the sound of your boyfriend's annoying text tone," Scarlett smiled.

"Stop calling him that," Wes said from the other end of the table. Scarlett and Aiden didn't even look at him.

"Just because Luke and I don't walk around calling eachother our OMGBESTIEAGGGGGHHHH," Aiden rolled his eyes but he picked up his phone immediately.

"Anyway, you're just jealous because I'm done with school for the week," Scarlett pointed out.

"I'm not jealous that you think a paper planner makes you the coolest kid ever even though it's been like 100 years since everyone else stopped using them," Aiden said.

"Oh yeah? Well which one of us gets to sleep in tomorrow?" Scarlett smiled.

"Fuck you," Aiden sighed. "If it weren't for football I would beg Mom and Dad to let me quit school too."

"I didn't quit school, I'm still getting my diploma from your school," Scarlett said. "I'll just be getting it a whole year before you."

"You know it's been like 5 whole minutes since you last texted Ryan. Better send him a selfie in case he forgot what you look like," Aiden said. "Or check your planner and see if it's time to vom again."

"Shut up, I don't do that," Scarlett huffed. She picked up her stuff anyway.

"Whatever, Pudge," Aiden laughed. "We'll see who gets new teeth for Christmas."

"I don't need new teeth!" Scarlett gasped.

"Go look in the mirror," Aiden said. "Wait, write it in your planner first so you don't forget when you're halfway there."

"I hate you so much," Scarlett said and went to her room. She did check the mirror but not to see her teeth. This time she had to check her stomach. It felt like Aiden had been calling her pudge and fatso her whole life and she'd laughed it off but lately she was wondering if it was true.

Scarlett's phone started ringing before she could decide and she grabbed it.

"Hi Mama," she sighed.

"Are you looking in the mirror?" Clara asked.

"How do you always know that?" Scarlett demanded.

"Your tone of voice," Clara laughed. "Baby, you're beautiful. I'm going to take the mirror away."

"You can't take my mirror, what if I have boogers hanging out of my nose?" Scarlett argued.

"Anyway, Dylan and I are almost back. We're stopping at Starbucks, text me your order and get the boys too, okay?" Clara said.

"I can't drink a frappachino, I'm obese," Scarlett sighed and flopped on her bed.

"Venti frap, got it," Clara said.

"Mom!" Scarlett groaned.

"I love you," Clara said. "See you soon."

Scarlett hung up and texted Aiden to send their Mom his and Wes's drink orders. She asked Clara to bring her a kids' size lite caramel frap with no whipped cream, just in case. By the time she was done with that she had two new texts - one from Dax and one from Ryan.
