"Wake up!" You jerk awake as a scientist walks by, rattling all the cages. As he walks by you, he drops a chunk of bread in between your crate slots and slips a dog bowl of water in through the small opening at the bottom. You scarf down the small amount of food and chug the water. The scientists didn't seem to understand that you need 10x the amount of food that a normal human needs, because of your bird genes. Or they didn't care.
"Out." A skinny, black-haired female scientist ordered you, opening your crate door and arming herself with a taser. 'Ya. like I'm gonna try that again.' you think bitterly as you climb out, stretching your arms and legs. You wince as you stretch your left arm, where the wolf-man gave you the gash. The stitches pulled at your skin as you stretched. "Out." She ordered again, opening the door that lead to the arena.
"I'm not a dog!" You snap at her, walking through the door. In the arena you unfold your wings, stretching out the sore muscles and fanning your feathers out. After three years of 'training' the wolf-men, you've gotten use to the routine. The wolf-men walked out from another door and sneered at you. They walked up to you and snapped their jaws at you, taunting.
"Look. They patched its arm up." The wolf-man that tore your arm yesterday laughed with his companions.
"It??" You spat at him. "I'm more normal than you'll ever be!" As a growl ripped through his throat, you jumped into the air and down-stroked to stay airborne, his claws just missing your bare feet as he lunged at you.
"Get your guns!" He ordered the pack as they scattered to retrieve their paintball guns hanging from the hooks on the walls. Suddenly, pain jolted through your body, making your wings go limp. You fell to the floor with a thud and you heard yelps of pain as the wolf-men got shocked from their collars as well.
"Who gave you permission to start?" Yelled the head scientist. "Experiment 1-0-5," He addressed you, "You are not to be doing this today. You were scheduled for experimentation trials!"
"Oh, that would be my mistake, sir." The female scientist that brought you in explained. "I must have read the chart wrong. My apologies." You're ordered to get up and the head Scientist lead you to the trial room where they poke and prod you and make you run endless obstacle courses.
Suddenly, the ground trembled and the lights went out. "What the hell?" Head scientist said. Thanks to your raptor vision, you could see in the dark, and, fortunately, he could not. You slipped away and pressed your back against the wall. The ground shook again and dust fell from the ceiling as the scientist talked through his walkie-talkie to the technicians. Seeming to have forgotten about you, he ran out, the door automatically locking itself as it closed behind him.
Frantically, you look around for windows. None. You heard a scuffle outside of the door and a shout that was cut short. And then the door opened.
Six kids scanned the room and, upon seeing you, wings still out and blood dripping from the torn stitches in your arm, froze. But just for a split second. "You coming or not?" The brown haired girl, who seemed to be the leader, asked you.
"Ya! We're here to bust everyone out!!" The small blond haired boy yelled enthusiastically, slapping a high five with an older boy with white-blonde hair and faded blue eyes. You didn't skip a beat.
You ran after them, opening all the doors you could and releasing the other experiments. 'Is this really happening? Or is this a test?' You thought to yourself. But all your doubts vanished as the six kids lead you and the others out a door and into the blinding sunlight.
A/n: There. You're free. Happy? Good!
...See ya :)!
