You looked down and froze. Your hands and Iggy were still covered in blood, but the bullet wound was completely gone. You looked at your red stained hands as if they were someone else's. As if you had never seen them before.

You were knocked to the hard ground abruptly, feeling small arms around you and warm wet tears hitting your neck. Gazzy thanked you over and over again and you hugged him back, rubbing his wings soothingly. Iggy's breath slowly returned to normal and the color returned to his face.

Five minutes later, Iggy sat up and was immediately crowded by the flock. Confused and alarmed, he asked if they were all dead. "And if so, heaven sucks." He said, shivering.

Max chuckled and told him how you had healed him. "Just by touching you!" Gazzy exclaimed. Iggy looked in your direction, eyebrows raised.

"Well.. Nudge got the bullet out.." You shifted, feeling his eyes on you -even though he couldn't see you- made you feel like he was gazing into your heart. His cloudy eyes held wonder and admiration and thankfulness. You cleared your throat. For some reason, you're brain brought up the morning where you two woke up together, his arms around you, and he firmly stated that you weren't his (boy/girl)friend. You pushed the memory away and smiled.

"I don't know how I did it. I was just desperate, I guess. I wonder what the scientists put in me to make me do that." You blabbered to ease the tension in your chest, a mix of relief and old fear for Iggy's life.

"I don't care how you did it, I'm just glad you did." Iggy said, smiling, and everyone nodded their agreement. "Thank you, for saving my life, (Y/n)."

"Well.. I guess it's payback for you saving mine.. twice. Plus, Nudge helped, like I said.." You smiled at Nudge who grinned back at you.

"She sure did," Max beamed at her little girl and hugged her, ruffling her curly hair. Nudge laughed and hugged Iggy again.

"Hey! Looks like the weather is celebrating with us." Nudge stated, looking up at the sky which had cleared and was letting down a much lighter drift of powdery snow.

It was a harsh, long flight back to where the flock had settled last. It had been a couple hours since you guys had left the Arctic and you had to rest every other hour. You stole glances at Iggy every couple of minutes. Just to see if he was ok, of course.

"How you doing, (Y/n)?" Max asked, coasting beside you.

"Fine." You said simply.

"Mh-hmm.." Max didn't seem convinced. Her wingtips brushed yours lightly. "I'm so sorry that it took so long to find you. You must have given up on us, huh?"

You nodded. "I did, actually. After a few months." No point in lying. "I kept hoping, but.."

"I know. I know how it is." Max sighed deeply, crossing her arms over her chest and looking at her flock.

Dylan had went his separate way when you had all made it away from the lab, and that was taking it's toll on Max. Angel had gotten you up to date with the history between Max and Dylan, and you saw the conflict in Max's eyes.

"Y'know, Iggy was worried sick about you this whole time. I mean, we all were, but.." Max said, with a knowing look in her eye and a smile.

You smiled and looked at Iggy. He had his hand over his chest where his bullet wound had been, like he expected it to reappear, and when it didn't, he smiled and glanced back in your direction, his face beaming.
