Itching For a Fix

A/n: Not the drug kind.

"Fang, it's been five days. We need to relocate." Max said.

"I don't see why. We're perfectly fine here. Nothing has come to attack us, let's take advantage of that." Fang replied, not looking up from his computer from which he was still updating his fans on the adventure of getting you out of the school.

It had been five days since you re-united with the flock, and nothing had come after you guys yet. But you saw both Max's and Fang's side on this. On one hand, this cabin was nice. It was four walls and a roof, complete with comfortable furniture, cans of food, and covered by dense trees. There were three rooms. One for the boys, one for the girls, and one for Max and Fang. Of course. There was a Port-a-John out back and a river to the east. It was the perfect set-up.

On the other hand, everyone was getting restless staying in one spot for this long. Paranoid that someone, or something, would surround their little hut at any moment. Or bomb it.

"We won't be the ones 'taking advantage' of this place for much longer. We have to find somewhere else." Everyone sensed that Max's patience was wearing thin, which made the atmosphere even more uneasy. The two could be heard from the room where you and the rest of the flock were playing games.

In these past five days, the flock had been recovering from your rescue. Taking turns helping you, sleeping, keeping watch, catching food, and more sleeping. Mostly, you've all been bumming around, making Max agitated.

"We need to do something!"

"We have been doing something!" Fang argued. "We've been taking care of (Y/n)!"

"Well we can't very well continue doing that if we get attacked!"

"We'll know if someone is near," Fang shut his laptop and finally looked up at Max. "Gasman and Iggy set up traps all around this place."

Max threw her hands up, letting them fall back down and slap her thighs. "That isn't the point! We're getting lazy! We need to continue training (Y/n)! We need to plan what we're going to do next!"

"And we can do all that right here!"

"Why aren't you listening to me!? We need to re-locate! We are in danger here if we stay any longer!"

"We are in danger everywhere!" Fang stood up. "We are constantly running and fighting and I think, for once, we can just stay somewhere for more than three days and take time to recuperate!" They we're both yelling now, and it was much easier to hear them.

Gazzy stopped in the middle of his turn playing charades and poked his head out the door to listen. Nudge hugged Total tighter in her lap as Max and Fang's voices continued to rise.

"Don't worry guys," Iggy said. "They'll work it out." And then under his breath, you heard him mutter, "I hope."

"I've never heard them fight like this," You said. "Usually its just bantering."

"They don't fight often, but when they do, like right now, just make sure to stay out of their way." Angel advised.

"I'm the leader and I say we go!"

"This isn't a monarchy, Max! Have you asked the others what they want to do? You didn't even ask me!"

"I know what's best for us, I don't need your agreement on everything we do!"

"We're a team! That's what teams do! You aren't the queen, Max! I'm staying here!"

"Whatever! You do what you want, everyone else is leaving with me! Have fun getting caught!" Max whipped around to face the doorway of your guys' room and Gazzy yelled and ducked back in the room. "Get your stuff, everyone, we're leaving!"

"We can't leave Fang here!" Nudge protested, stepping out into the hallway.

"Fang doesn't want to come, therefore, we're leaving without him! Get your stuff!"

"But we need Fang!" Total said. Fang smirked and Max growled, clenching her fists.

"Fine! Then maybe he can lead you!" And before anyone could say anything else to make Max angrier, she threw the front door open and jumped into the air, taking off.

Fang sighed and slumped back down in the couch. "Don't worry, she'll be back."
