Chapter 12: The Option

Dogwonder: One more chapter than the grand magic games! Finally! Sorry for the wait everyone!

Nya: It's about time author.

Dogwonder: I know, I know. Being such a failure of an author and stuff right now. Let's just begin.

"Spit out Haku." I sighed.

"I figured out another way to help you." Haku told me.

My curiosity perked up slightly.

"What is it?" I pressed.

"I understand that partners give each other the emotional support they need and will always be there for each other. I think we should give that a try." Haku explained.

"Partners?" I questioned.

"Basically boyfriend and girlfriend." Haku simplified.

I stared at him in shock.

"You're seriously suggesting that?!" I exclaimed.

"Well, from what you told me Natsu helped you get over the death of your brother and I would essentially be doing the same thing." Haku informed me.

I glared at him for his choice of words.

"This will only be a trial. We can stop anytime this becomes too painful for you." Haku continued.

Partners? Will this seriously be helping? It is only a trial. I don't know. It would be like betraying Natsu, but he's dead.

"From what I've observed you need someone to depend on you and someone to give you support in return. This will be the best course of action." Haku further explained.

I carefully considered his words.

"As long as I can back out anytime I want." I agreed.

"Of course." Haku nodded.

"Well, I guess we should get back to them now." I decided.

"Probably."

As we headed back to them I heard Haku mutter something inaudible. I was only able to catch the word like. I shrugged it off as nothing. We arrived back at the tree the two were against. They both looked glum.

"Looks like you to are finally awake." I noted.

"And I'm still feeling your punch." Lilly grumbled.

She rubbed at her chin and winced at the touch. Tsukasa's face was down casted and was facing the other direction.

"Hey Tsukasa! Aren't you going to apologize to me?!" I yelled at him. "You caused me a lot of trouble!"

Tsukasa turned around to face me with misty eyes and his bottom lip trembling.

"I-I'm s-sorry!" He cried.

"You better be." I huffed. "Also, say sorry to Haku. He saved your sorry a*s."

"I-I'm sorry." Tsukasa mumbled.

Haku looked at him in surprise.

"Woah. You have some serious skills to make him be nice to me." Haku marveled.

Tsukasa glared at Haku.

"Can we just go back? I don't feel happy right now." Lilly pouted.

"Okay." I agreed.

We trudged through the forest and managed to get back. I then collapsed my bed.

"Don't bug me for a while guys." I groaned. "I want to rest."

"Someone is out of shape." Lilly teased.

"Why don't you try fighting next?" I smirked.

Lilly frowned at me then went to sulk somewhere.

"I'm sorry again." Tsukasa apologized.

"If you're sorry then be quiet and leave me alone." I sighed.

Tsukasa nodded then left me alone with Haku.

"What's wrong Nya?" Haku asked

"Nothing. Just feel like being alone right now."

"Are you thinking about him?" Haku pressed.

"Somewhat. But also what you said earlier. About what I'm going to do." I admitted.

"Is that so. I'll help you however I can Nya." Haku told me.

"I'm sure you will. Now let me get some sleep. I didn't get enough last night." I smirked.

Haku nodded and I laid on my side.

"I really should find something to do." I muttered.

I closed my eyes and drifted off until a few later when Lilly woke me up.

"Are you hungry?" She asked.

"You're not sulking anymore?" I questioned.

"Well, I understand why you did it, but I was depressed over the fact I couldn't do anything to stop it." Lilly confessed. "I want to get stronger."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. But let's eat first."

I went out with Lilly down to the bar below where the guys were already ordering. We sat down with them are our full. Our group then went back to our room where we played cards until it was time to sleep. I changed clothes and went into my bed.
