Jae glanced left and right, then pointed at himself, and when Taeyong nodded he was still sitting there, stunned and afraid, but Doyoung and Taeil pushed him towards the middle of the room, so he had no choice, but to get up. He trembled. Will it be an embarrassment? Yuta and Ten were whispering something quietly looking at him in an unpleasant way, but from the corner of the room Doyoung and Taeil were giving him thumbs up.
"You're a great dancer Mr. Jae, so show them what you've got," Taeyong whispered it coming closer to him and Jae forgot how to breath.
He shook his head awkwardly, while the music started. His nervousness was raising and he nearly missed the first beat. He tried to clear his mind and concentrated on his own mirror reflection, and then he danced, giving his all. His lungs were burning, the sweat was dropping down his face, and even out of his chin, but he got through to the last note.
The class applauded loud, Doyoung and Taeil got up and hurried to him, jumping on him, and tickling him. Some shoes were thrown into the middle of the room while Mr. Moo was trying to calm the atmosphere down.
"To the changing room! Now! Maths starts in twenty minutes! And take a proper shower, all of you! I don't want a smelly class!" Mr. Moo shouted to get their attention.
"It was so great," Taeil smiled to Jae, who felt somehow proud, he knew he has danced better then ever.
"Sure Mr. Moo, thank you for being with us and letting us dance," Taeyong bowed in front of the teacher and the rest followed.
They hurried to the changing room and the showers, while Jae caught some jealous glances from Yuta and Ten.
"I think you're lucky, your crush likes you," whispered Doyoung, because they were the last ones in the long corridor.
"He's not..." Jae got red again.
"Come on, I know and Taeil knows, it's ok," Doyoung smiled.
Jae shook his head. He was a fanboy. He liked Taeyong's music, but that was it.
The cafeteria was filled with conversations and laughter. Jae revised some music theory for the test later this afternoon, while he tried to finish his lunch.
The morning dance was so good, and Jae decided from now on he will put more effort into dancing. Maybe it was the second plan, the second career path he could take. He wouldn't even need to change schools.
"I wrote her a letter, where I explain yesterday's misunderstanding," Taeil took the free chair next to Jae and put a pink piece of paper on the table.
"Have you mentioned the dog, Little Fairy in it?" asked Doyoung, who was busy with his food.
"Should I cross the dog out?" Taeil got pale.
"Yes, definitely," Doyoung rolled his eyes to Jae.
"Maybe fead it to us," said Jae and Taeil grabbed the paper.
"You want to eat my letter?" he asked in shock.
"He means read," Doyoung sighed.
"Oh," Taeil calmed down. "Ok. Yhym. Sweet Lauren. The bird wasn't hired, so don't worry. I'm not like this. I'm like a fairy in the forest, where we can play with unicorns and our future dog Little Fairy... that's the part I'll cross out," Taeil looked at the boys, who tried to keep straight faces but failed. "What?"
"Play with unicofns," Jae giggled.
"First you need to catch a horse and attach a ridiculous horn to it's head," a voice made Jae's laughter fade.
He glanced up to find a tray and Taeyong's face above it.
The boy laughed and squeezed a chair between Taeil and Jae.
Jae swallowed, had Taeyong heard his problem?
"You guys are the funniest nerds at school, that's why I decided to join this table. Besides I like Jae he's a great guy," Taeyong sat down and tapped Jae's shoulder causing him to nearly choke on his food.
"So what's wrong with the letter?" asked a pretty impatient Taeil.
"Show it," Taeyong grabbed the paper out of his hand and read it. The corners of his lips went up. "Is it to a girl?"
"Yes," Taeil closed his fists ready to fight for the letter.
"Add, we will be swallowed by two huge aliens, but they don't like dogs so Little Fairy will survive," Taeyong gave the letter back to the boy.
"What!" Taeil looked like if he wouldn't understand a thing.
"Give me a piece of paper Jae," Taeyong glanced at the boy, who started to look through his bag till he found a crumpled paper from one of his notebooks.
He moved it towards Taeyong, who grabbed the pen from Doyoung's book and started to write.
Jae leaned above his shoulder and tried to read, but Taeyong covered it with his hand.
"Here, give it to her," he finished writing and handed the paper to Taeil, who didn't look convinced but took it.
"Read it," said Doyoung and Jae felt he's too excited.
"L like love, A like greatness, U like so underrated, R like no resistance, E like euphoria, N like the name, that is on my lips day and night, Lauren. The only flower in the rose-garden, the unique sun on my sky, while I'm the unnoticed planet, drawn in by the gravity of your light."
Taeil stopped reading and Jae felt his mouth is wide open, and he can't close it.
"Ok?" Taeyong looked at the boy.
"From now on you write my love letters!" Taeil jumped up and hurried out of the room.
"What was this about?" asked Taeyong.
"He ran to give it to Lauren, I hope he won't flash the letter in a toilet on the way there, or mistakenly give her his own poem about unicorns and the dog called Little Fairy," Doyoung sighed.
"We will get Lauren to like him, no worries," Taeyong smiled and glanced at Jae.
The boy looked at his plate quickly, he's cheeks were too red.
Thank you for all the support. What do you think about the letters? Do you want a bonus chapter next week? If yes please give this story a lot of love :)
