Just You Is Enough

All the things in life have its own reasons and I do believe in that.

Now as I lay in bed with Luke’s arms wrapped around me, I thought of  a lot of the things that we’ve been through together and I’m proud to say that I’m lucky to found someone like him. I move his arms slightly so I can go downstairs to prepare something for the both of us but he only tightens his grip on my waist and pulled me closer to him.

“Luke I’ll be back, I’m going to prepare our breakfast.” Yes, he slept here last night but only that. We didn’t go that far last night.

“We can do that later, it’s our time so please don’t be a kill joy.” He said with his teasing voice.

“Okay,” I smiled.

“Good, I love you.” He said and I can’t help but smile kissing his nose.

“I love you too.”

“I want to wake up every day like this,” He said and I imagine it at my mind.

“Then our door will open with Ariel coming towards us to-“

“Wait, who is Ariel?” I asked.

“Oh yeah, the name which is Nicole came up with. She said that one day when we have a baby; she wanted to name her Ariel while Austin wants to name it Leandro when it’s a boy.” He said with his eyes rolling but he can’t hide me his smirk.

“Wait, Austin? Is he the guy- " Before I finished my sentence he put his palm on my mouth to stop me.

“Yes, he is the one that you and Nicole were trying to hide me.”

“It’s not like that! We were just talking about Austin because she had a crush on him. Well, I really missed a lot huh…” I mumbled to myself.

“You do but I missed you more, let’s talk about those later, I hate that kid like really.” He said pertaining to Austin.

“Come on, you hate everyone.” I tease.

“I am not” he defended.

“You do, remember how you hated Ethan? And-” before I could say anything, I stop myself already. I talked too much and I hate it, he stiffens when he hears his name and I can’t blame him.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.” I said looking at the ceiling. He tilted my chin to look at him.

“You have nothing to be sorry; it’s all on the past okay? I’m not mad at you and never will.” He said and I gave him a small smile and nod at him. Yes, he changed and this change made me love him more.

  “So, how much do you know about Austin?” I asked looking at him while we both having lunch at some Italian restaurant.

“I don’t know why I always saw Nicole talking at the phone smiling ear to ear every night, I thought it was a friend but one night I saw her blushing and I can’t help but slightly eavesdrop you know. She’s my sister for God sake so I took the chance. I heard her talking how she can’t go out in public ‘cause she’s afraid that someone may see them hanging around together. To make the story short, after that night I called someone to investigate her the following days and-“

I gasp and cutting his story telling.

“You didn’t! That’s not fair for her Luke, come on!” I protest. My boyfriend just looks at me,

“Can you let me finish my story first?”He asks.

“Fine,”

“Okay, then I found out that he is a son of some ‘well known’ family. He also got a little sister named keeana which is five years old and I was like ‘okay’ but then it’s not the point, I research a lot about him and I think he is nice. I told Nicole how I knew things between them and she got mad at me first about ‘spy thingy’ like what she used to say. I told her how I felt when I found out and explained to her everything and then bam! All is good; mom and dad invited him to our dinner sometimes. I just hate how clingy he is to her sometimes; he keeps holding her hand and everything!” He said like he was a four years old kid wanting something he can’t have.

I just rolled my eyes and chuckle.
“Really Luke, I think you’re just over reacting. It’s normal you know it’s not like you haven’t been on that stage.” I smiled at him but he is just looking at me deeply.

“Actually, I don’t. I regret not doing those things back then, we’ve never done things in public remember and that’s why the reason I think I’m being like this.” He speaks as he held m hand.

“It’s all in the past now, we can start again okay? Besides I understand you okay? I’m just messing around, I know how you feel because she is your sister and you’re just protecting her and doing your job as a good brother to her.” I assure him.

“Now I know how James felt when the first time he saw me with you. It’s a combination of a bit of hate and nervous. Actually Austin is not that bad, actually he is a good guy, it’s just I hate the fact that my sister is now dating.” He said it honestly and I can’t help but smile on how he is such a good brother to Nicole.

“I’m so proud of you babe, you did a good job of being a good brother to Nicole but please, don’t torture the boy too much okay?”

“I can’t promise you that but I’ll try.” He said chuckling as we continue digging on our food.

“Last question, you think if the boy doesn’t came from a well known family you think you’ll still accept him?” I ask and he put his fork on the plate to look at me again.

“Honestly I will, his money is just a bonus and his intention for my sister is the most important thing to me, on how he will treat her.” He explained and I nod.

“I know what you were thinking babe, and I want you to know that I love you from who you are and not what you have.” He added.

My parents came that day with their faces full of curiosity and I can’t blame them. They had a ‘talk’ Luke and dad, same with my mom. I’ve never been this happy and alive in my life. My brother James came that night and also gave Luke a dying heart to heart talk that I almost peed on my pants waiting for them to finish. It took three hours for them talking to one another and I can’t help but think what they are talking about; it’s longer than talking to my dad a while ago. It took forty-eight minutes with my dad and twenty-three minutes with my mom.  

I hate it sometimes when my brother thinks he’s some kind of a king and made some orders. How can I forget, he is the one and only King Kong! I’m outside of his room waiting impatiently for them to come out until I heard them laughing and screaming.

That’s when I’ve decided to come in.  

“What the hell is going on here, I’ve been-“when I open the door, I saw them having a wrestling.

“Try not to kill each other okay? I’ll be downstairs!” I said as I made my way downstairs with a huge smile on my face.  

    Maybe they don’t talk too much about things but I know that action speaks louder than words.
