Just You Is Enough

Emergency call and sweet talks

When we finally reach the house, Luke grabs me by the arm as we both made our way inside. I can see his eyes full of worry as we made huge steps towards the house. I squeeze his hands slightly to ease the tension. Once we made it to her room, Nicole was nowhere to be found.

"Nicole!" Luke shouted. I look around to see the door leading to the comfort room is slightly open.

"Hey, I think she's in there." I told him as we inches to the door. We can hear her crying.

I let him walk to Nicole first and then I followed. Nicole is crying at the corner embracing her knees. It breaks my heart the scene in front of me.

Luke kneeled in front of her as she cries.

"Hey baby, what's wrong?" He asked at the same time he leaned to hug her tight.

She shook her head as she continues to cry.

"You can tell me right? I'm your brother..." He cooed. I remember James and I being like this.

She sniffs and then nods her head.

"It's a long story but I'm not- I'm not going to put it in pieces..." She said in between sniffs.

Luke nodded at her.

"Troy broke up with me yesterday, saying he don't like me anymore... I accept it because all I wanted is him to be happy even if it hurts but then I saw him again this afternoon after his basketball practice walking at the hallway, and he- he was with my friend Sonya." She cried again in Luke's arms.

I'm sorry to say it but at the back of my mind, I was already burning that Sonya into pieces!

After hearing the story, I have realized how I invaded their space as a sibling. I shouldn't be in here.

Everything that Nicole said reminded me of myself back then, I know it hurts. I almost forgot that it was a year and so that's why I even don't know who the heck is Troy is. Back then I remember her telling me stories about her crush but then things happened and with the time running so fast, she is now a teenager. I missed too much I guess.

Luke looks at me with an emotion I can't figure out. I gave him a small smile and mouthed him that I'll be just outside to give them privacy which he fully understands.

After I called my parents saying I'll be home late, I went to the living room waiting for Luke and Nicole until I saw Laura, their helper that I used to talk to when I'm here before. We both hug one another tightly. I missed her so much! She keeps on saying how sad she is when she found out that Luke and I were over a year ago that she can't believe that Luke broke up with me. She said how she keeps on telling Luke that he just made the biggest mistake in life by breaking my heart.

We are actually talking for over good twenty minutes and Laura's magic never fades. We moved to the kitchen, our favorite spot together.

"I really can't believe that you are here darling..." She said happily. I can't help but hug her once more. She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met.

"Thanks Laura but I'm here now," I told her with a smile.

"Are you and Luke finally-"I knew what she is going to say so I cut her off already before anyone hears it.

"I'm sorry but we are not, but we are now friends I guess. He seems so happy right now..." I told her honestly. Deep inside me, I know that I don't want us to be just friends. I want us to be more, to be just like before...

"You think he is?" Laura asks with humor.

I was speechless for a moment as I look at her like she wants to imply something.
