~ Destiny Pov ~

Kol and I lie on our bed, I clutch the moth eaten teddy bear tight against my chest. I can't help think about Ruby. "You're thinking about her, aren't you?" Kol asks, gently stroking my arm.

"Can you blame me?" I ask not tasking my eyes of the bear in my arms.

"No." He says softly.

"I just...She was just a baby." I say finally looking into his eyes, tears that I didn't know were there began to fall. Kol hugs me tightly.

-Flashback-

"It's a girl." The doctor announces and cuts the chord.

"A girl?" Destiny asks as the doctor cleans the wailing baby. He nods as he wraps her up and hands her to Destiny.

"A girl." The doctor says then turns back to the dying human girl on the table.

"Can I see her?" The girl asks weakly. Destiny bends to show the girl the baby. She smiles then shuts her eyes. Her heartbeat softens then is silent. She's dead.

"Hi Ruby, I'm your mummy." Destiny says sweetly to the baby she holds in her arms. The baby stops crying and smiles. "Hi." She kisses the baby's forehead.

"Hi sweetie, I'm your daddy." Kol says and smiles lovingly at the child.

"She's ours Kol, all ours." Destiny says lovingly and leaves the room followed by Kol who has an arm wrapped protectively around his wife. They turn corners and approach the front door.

"Good day Mr and Mrs Mikaelson." The butler Joel says as he opens the front door. Kol and Destiny exit the house with bright smiles across their faces

- 3 weeks later -

"Stars shining bright above you,
night breezes seem to whisper; I love you
Birds singing in the sycamore tree, Dream a little dream of me." Destiny sings as she gently rocks baby Ruby to sleep. Kol stares lovingly from the doorway at his wife and daughter, trying to imagine a different life. But drawing only visions of sorrow and emptiness. "Staring is rude." She announces, now standing in front of Kol no longer with the baby in her arms. She kisses his forehead then turns out of the room, Kol closes the door halfway and follows her.

"I wasn't staring, simply admiring."

"Call it what you will, it was creepy."

"It was romantic."

"Shush." Destiny says and kisses his lips softly. "To bed, I'm exhausted." She says and Kol agrees. they race each other to bed and climbed in to greet a happy slumber.

- 3:00 am. -

The cry of their infant daughter wakes them, "Destiny?" Kol asks and she groans. She steps into her slippers and walks half asleep to their daughter's room. As she pushes the door open she sees the figure of a grown man. The horror filled scream from his wife wakes Kol, he speeds off to the nursery. He steps inside the room, there lies Destiny clutching a bloody bundle of blankets to her chest, a symbol written in blood on the nursery wall. Their daughter was dead...
