Zoe sat and stared at Rowan. It had been five days now. Zoe had only moved to go to the toilet and take sips of water and small bites of food. She wasn't going to leave her side until Rowan woke up. Alfie hadn't even bothered coming to see if she was okay... Poppy had advised him to give Zoe some space because she was angry and upset and he had decided it might be best.
Both of their parents had come to visit but had left this morning because they couldn't take any more time off work. Joe was at Zoe and Alfie's house at the moment – taking a shower and editing a video. He had decided he was going to continue uploading otherwise people would wonder why both he and Zoe weren't.
Joe knew there was no point in asking Zoe anything – she had barely said a word to anyone since he had arrived. Joe had even gone as far as tweeting from her twitter and uploading an Instagram picture so the viewers wouldn't get suspicious and start asking questions.
There was a knock at the door. Zoe didn't even react. "Little one?" Zoe tensed up. It was Alfie. She didn't want to speak to Alfie. "Zoe..." he started slowly. From the chair, Zoe shook her head to tell him to go away. He didn't. Instead, he hugged her from behind and kissed the top of her head.
Zoe shrugged him off. She was glad he was okay but it was his fault. It was all his fault...
"Zoe, I'm sorry," Alfie said pathetically. He knew sorry wasn't good enough. He knew it would never be good enough; even if Rowan ever did wake up.
"Please leave," Zoe begged weakly.
"I'm not going," Alfie replied.
"Alfie, please," she repeated. She couldn't deal with his stubbornness right now. There was another knock at the door and Zoe closed her eyes.
"Miss Sugg? Could I please talk to you?" the doctor asked.
"Yes," Zoe replied.
"Would you prefer it if it was just us two and Rowan?" the doctor asked.
"No. I want Alfie to stay..." Zoe decided. She thought she would need him.
"Very well. I'm not sure if you knew this... I'm not sure how close you were with your sister, or if she even knew herself. But, Rowan was pregnant when she was in the accident. Twenty weeks. I'm afraid her baby didn't survive," the doctor explained softly.
Zoe started to cry silently. Her niece or nephew... her niece or nephew that she didn't even know about... was gone. "I don't think... I don't think Rowan knew. We were close, she would have told me. And she wouldn't have drunk any alcohol. She knows that isn't good when you're pregnant," she said slowly.
"Okay Miss Sugg, I just wanted to let you know. I'm very sorry," the doctor finished. Then he left. Then Zoe started sobbing louder and Alfie hugged her tightly. He felt so guilty. This was all his fault...
"Why are you crying Zoe?" a small voice asked from the bed.
"Rowan!" Zoe said in shock.
"Why are you crying? And who are you hugging?" Rowan repeated anxiously.
