"DANIIIII GET YOUR RAT BUTT DOWN HERE NOW!" I shouted, while going through the ten million lyric sheets I had in my hands, we were running late. This meeting should have started fifteen minutes ago.

"I am coming! Don't get your butt in a twist, goodness, it is Glob-knows-what o'clock in the morning!" Dani answered back from upstairs.

"AT THE GLACIAL PACE YOU ARE MOVING IN, IT IS BASICALLY EVENING ALREADY! GET DOWN HERE!"

Okay, I admit I can be a bit of a drill sergeant, but what can you expect? I'm the leader of the group, I need to be punctual, and we need to be in our best game if we want our plans to push through. Not to mention a few obsessive compulsive tendencies here and there, but don't worry, I read tons of psychology books, I am well adjusted as FRICK. Well, I think I am at least.

After Queen Danielle finally settled down on the ottoman, and the rest of the girls were positioned around me, I went into full battle mode with the itinerary for the day.

We were going to perform in a private concert next month for some people who bought it on our Pledge campaign. We already did one of them for a fundraiser and that was so much fun and it felt good to contribute to their cause so everybody including I was excited for this next one.

"Alright, so since we already have the set list figured out, we don't really have much to do on the music front except from making sure we're still in tune, haha." I said, getting a few snorts.

"So what did you wake us up and drag us from our apartment all the way to mom and dad's house for, exactly?" Our sister Lisa asked distractedly, struggling to open a banana.

"Well, logistically, we still have a lot of things to do. Like, updating everyone's passports, because they expired two days ago, not to mention sorting out our connecting flights since there isn't really a plane that goes directly from Nashville to--"

rrrrrrnggg! rnnnnnnnng!

"What the heck is that noise?" Lauren muttered, her face scrunched up, blocking the sunlight from her eyes.

Katherine laughed, "it's the landline, you bleeping idi-yacht..." she said playfully, "I'll go answer it." standing up from her position on the sofa in between Lisa and Lauren, her tall, five foot nine frame casting a shadow over Lauren's face.

"No! Don't leaaave, the shade was so niiiice.." Lauren exclaimed.

"..So, about that second verse of I Know You Know It..." I started,

"Trust me," my sister butted in, "I can do that part in my sleep."

"Sleep. Sleep sounds good.." a drowsy Dani said under her breath.

Collective yawns and sighs went around the room.

This meeting isn't going well, I thought to myself. "Guys, come on, wake up! Aren't you excited for this private concert?" I asked them, trying to hype them up.

The others nodded sleepily and Amy said, "Stina, we ARE excited, but-"

"but what?" I interjected

"it's just.. so.. EARLY in the morning"

I groaned, "uuuuuugh, you guys! get up! come on, I promise once all the travel stuff is done today, I'll take you out for burgers and chicken wings."

At the mention of burgers, it was as if they had downed a shot of espresso each and were finally getting into the spirit of things, springing into action.

"Amy, you and I will take care of the passport renewal." Lisa said, pulling on her leopard print jacket.

Amy nodded, grabbing her purse from on top of the piano, "Okay, and Katherine can handle the ticket organization for the connecting flights."

Just as she said that, Katherine walked in with our mom Lynne.

"Hey mom," I said, "we were just heading out..."

Lynne shook her head, "you might not have to..."

I frowned, "What do you mean?"

Katherine spoke, " Remember the phone call? Well, it turns out it was the person who bought the private concert or the interpreter at least, and they told mom that our travel plans have been taken care of.." she ended with an impressed look on her face.

Lynne smiled as well, "They pretty much handled everything, passport updates, transportation, accommodation, everything.."

She had a funny look on her face, as if she wasn't finished telling us everything.

Dani walked towards our mom and asking the question I was thinking in my head, "Mother, what aren't thou telling us?"

Lynne chuckled, "apparently, the whole family is being flown out on a private jet to the location."

The room was silent, which in our house, was almost never possible.

"Say again?" Lauren whispered and made a motion for her mom to hold her.

Mom took her hand, and said, "Whole family. Private jet. One month vacation."

And the whole room exploded.

"OH MY GOSH!"
"THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!"
"WHOAAAA MYYY GOOAAAD"
"NOOO WAY"
"THIS IS AMAZING, WOW!"
"This means I can finally play in an airplane! Yay!."

That last one was me.

The girls sobered for a minute, rolling their eyes at me.

"What?" I said, "You know long trips bore the heck out of me!"

"Yeah, uh-huh. You know what else this means?" Dani asked, directing the question at me.

I looked at her, not knowing what she meant, "I don't know, what?"

Suddenly, Dani had me in a headlock, and in between me screaming trying to get out, she said, "IT MEANS YOU WOKE US UP FOR NOTHING YOU GREAT BIG DINGBAT!"

Huh, I guess I did. 😂
