Chapter 7 // My Best Gay Grandpa

I was right about grandpa being asleep.
He was quietly tucked away in his bed sound asleep.
I love old people. There is just something about the way their skin is wrinkly and squishy I could just eat them up.
I quietly shut the door of his bedroom and dashed up the stairs into my room, flopping onto my bed.
"Today was a good day mom. You would be proud." I say staring up at the ceiling. I quickly changed out of my clothes and into a soft pair of pajamas.
I threw my bag onto my desk chair. I curled up into my bed and dozed off.
The Next Morning
Beep Beep. Beep Beep. Beep Beep.
I smashed the top of my alarm clock with my fist and thrusting myself out of bed.
I ran down stairs to check on Papa and tell him about the night I had with Kylo.
I always talked to Papa about everything.
He's my gay best friend.
He told me once about a guy he met in school named Anakin. Papa became his tutor and then they fell in love. But sadly Anakin moved away to a different state.
"Papa! Guess what happened last night!" I say excitingly running into the kitchen and sitting down at the table.
"What?!" He said placing a plate in front of me.
"So my partner and I started to work on our projects you know. And then like after it was getting boring we decided to get some Taco Bell like down the street. And on the car ride back to his house I feel like I really bonded with Kylo. Like he really connected with me also." I say really fast.
"Reyyy. Do you like this boy?" He asks smiling and raising a brow.
"What? No!" I say gobbling down my food and running back up stairs to change and brush my teeth.
Did I like Kylo? Did he like me? That was hard to say. My feelings were mixed in a batter of my heart.
"Stop it rey! Stop dwelling on some boy that just took you to Taco Bell!" I quietly whispered harshly under my breath.
I quickly changed and dashed into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I rinsed and spit into the sink and checked back in the mirror.
Looking good Rey!
"Thanks Rey!" I said admiring myself in the mirror.
I grabbed my book bag off my chair and headed out the door.
"Bye papa!!" I yelled as I shut the door behind me.
I ran towards the corner of the block to tell Finn and Poe all about my adventure with Kylo.
"Hey guys!" I say approaching the unsuspecting boys.
"Hey Rey. You seem happy today." Poe says observing my behavior.
"I have to tell you all about my night spent with Kylo!" I say jumping up and down.
"Wait what?!" Finn asked gripping my arm seriously.
"Rey, I specifically told you not to talk to Kylo! He's bad news!" He said clenching his teeth.
"But Poe you don't get it. Kylo's really sweet and nice once you get to know him!" I say pouting.
"Ok. Just tell us when we get to school cause the bus is here." He says looking down the street at the giant yellow bus.
What if I was turning into one of those girls who freaks anytime a boy talks to her? No I couldn't be. Was I? No.
I just needed to chill for a second.
