After the whole incident with the Irish lucky charm, we headed back to the car since the mall was closing soon.
"That was by far the best trip to the mall I've ever had." Kylo says laughing and starting the car.
"Yeah. Who were they any way?" I asked Kylo.
"Kanjiklub. The most annoying gang in these parts of town. Most of Bala-Tiks minions don't even speak. They just stand there and look tough." Kylo says chuckling.
We get on the high way and drive back to Kylo's place.
I loved driving at night. The serenity of it all makes my heart race and my stomach flutter.
I stared out the window at the stars in the sky dancing around the black space.
"Do you believe in aliens Ben?" I asked Ben seriously.
"What?" Ben giggled.
"Seriously do you believe in aliens?" I repeated.
"I don't know. I know that for sure we aren't alone in this galaxy." He says with one hand on the steering wheel and the other outside the window.
We exited off the highway earlier than we were supposed to.
"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.
"Somewhere." He said smirking.
"ARE YOU GOING TO RAPE ME?!?!" I was internally screaming.
I tried to keep my thoughts contained and my expressions motionless.
We pulled into a park. It was late at night so no one else was there except for us. We pulled in and got out.
"What are we doing here?" I asked Kylo.
"I have to show you something." He says running up a hill.
I run after him but I can't catch up. I had shorter legs so of course I was behind. Ben reached the top of the hill first and I reached the top not long after him.
"You're out of shape Kenobi." Kylo says as I rest my hands on my knees panting heavily.
"Shut--up." I say punching him in the arm.
"You should try out for a sport. That would be fun." Kylo suggests.
"I'm thinking about joining the basketball team. I love to play." I say. I've played basketball ever since 7th grade.
"Good! I will go to every game." Kylo says with a smile.
We plopped down in the grass and stared up at the stars for god knows how long. Then finally Kylo broke the silence.
"My mom used to take me here when I was younger. I would have asthma attacks and sometimes to calm me down she would bring me here and tell me to look up at the stars." He said gazing upon the stars.
"To open up your throat." I say looking at the starry night sky.
Then Ben sits up and I do the same.
"Are you cold?" Ben asks me.
"No I'm fine." I say looking at him.
"I was just asking to be polite." He says looking back up at the sky.
"You're such a gentleman." I say giggling a little.
"I get it from my dads side of the family." He says laughing knowing that wasn't true.
"Yeah sure." I say sarcastically.
He wraps his arm around me and pulls me close to his body.
"You know Rey. Your my best friend. I've never had a friend like you." He says looking down at me.
"I've never had a friend like you either Ben." I smile.
"You know the first time I saw you, you looked so lonely and so innocent. So new to this world." He says staring at the open space in front of us.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yeah. You seemed so lost." He answered.
"I was lost. And now I'm found." I say.
"Did you just quote Amazing Grace?" He laughs.
"Maybe." I laugh as well.
"But in all seriousness, if i never found a friend like you I would have never found my way to this new improved life." He says resting his head on top of mine.
I couldn't take the tension anymore it was killing me.
"You know Ben...." I trail off. He looks at me and then glances down to my lips.
I do the same.
"Sometimes when friends isn't enough to describe a bond so great you have to think outside the box...." I leaned in. Our lips inches away. His breath down my neck.
"Color outside the lines." His breath was warm on my collarbone and have me goosebumps.
"Exactly." I say closing the space in between us.
Every moment was more and more passionate. More and more desirable.
We both pulled away and looked into each other's eyes and stared. Like no one knew what to say.
"I love you." He says.
"I know."
