Chapter 33// Prick

I walked out the door of the party for the second time. I pushed through the crowd of guys and down the driveway. My house wasn't far from here.
I walked down the sidewalk and caught my breath.
I looked behind me and saw 3 guys walking behind me.
I stopped and turned around.
"Can I help you?" I ask utterly annoyed.
"Uh no we're just walking to a friends house." One of the guys said.
"Oh." I say nodding and resuming walking.
I walked for a good couple houses and saw that the boys were still following me.
Then all of a sudden I felt a hand on my ass.
I whip around and see one of the guys squeezing my butt.
I pull my fist back and punch him square in the face sending him into a world of pain.
I looked at the other 2 boys as they looked at the other guy on the ground.
"Jesus what's wrong with you?" One of them asked.
"Oh nothing just some random creep grabbed my ass." I say crossing my arms.
"Hey shouldn't you be in the kitchen making me a sandwich?" The other boys say laughing.
"Shouldn't you be on a cactus prick?" I say turning and walking down my path leaving the boy in searing pain on the ground.
I walk down the street and turn on to the main road.
I had to cross a couple of streets to get to the park and then I could walk to my house.
I walked by over a thousand houses and over a million trees before I got to the park.
"Finally I'm here." I say passing by the park and taking a rest.
I sat on the curb and cupped my face in my hands.
I pulled out my phone and had at least over a million texts from Poe.
"Rey where are you?"
"Have you been raped?"
"You're probably dead aren't you."
"That's why your not answering."
"You were super rude to Amber and Ben."
"Ben started to talk about you when Amber left."
"He really misses you."
I couldn't believe a word I was reading. It was all lies.
"No he doesn't you're lying|"
My cursor blinking. I left the sentence unfinished.
I stood back up and walked across the street. All of a sudden I was nearly sent into cardiac arrest by a car horn.
I look up and see Bens car.
"Jesus Christ!!" I yell at Ben through the window.
"Get in!" He yells back.
"No I'm not getting in that thing with you." I say walking to the other side of the road.
"Rey." He says sternly.
"No." I say looking at the car.
"Ok you made me do this." He says opening his car door and walking to me.
"What are you doing?" I ask confused as he rushed to me.
He picked me up by the waist and carried me over his shoulder to his car.
I kicked and squirmed as much as I could to get out of his grip.
"Ben let me down!" I yell as he places me in his car.
"Here." He says wrapping the seat belt around me and buckling it.
I sigh and catch my breath. I was really out of shape.
He shuts my door and gets in the other side. He steps on the peddle and drives down the abandoned road.
"You didn't have to do that you know." I say resting my head on the seat.
"Yes I did." He says stopping at the red light.
"I'm still mad you know." I say crossing my arms defensively.
"I know...." He trailed off like he was actually sad.
"That Amber chick is really your girlfriend?" I ask raising my eyebrows.
"Yep." He says as he slowly accelerates.
"How'd you meet." I say frowning. He moved on so quickly and I was still struggling like I was drifting off to sea and I was gasping for air from our breakup and he was swimming just fine.
I think of reality and life as a race. Like your just trying to get through it.
Some points in the race things are peaceful and calm but some points can be horrible and sometimes you want to quit but you have to push through it and get to the end.
"She was an old friend and we started to text and one thing led to another now we're dating."
My heart sunk to the floor.
"Oh that's nice." I say not really wanting to talk any more.
"You know after you stormed out of class Ms. Kanata applauded you." He says glancing over over to me.
"Really?" I ask looking at my legs.
"Yeah she said that you were I independent and you didn't take shit from anyone." He says chuckling.
"She's right I don't." I say grinning a little bit.
"Yeah and I know from experience." Kylo says laughing under his breath.
Now this is the Ben I knew. The calm kind one. Kylo was disrespectful and disobedient. No one liked Kylo. Everyone liked Ben.
We pulled into my driveway and I got out.
"Hey Rey." Ben says before I closed the door.
"Yeah." I say leaning into the car.
"We should hang out and talk for a bit." He says awkwardly.
"Won't your girlfriend find out." I say sarcastically.
"She doesn't even know the difference between Connecticut and Michigan. I think I'll be fine." He says smiling.
"Ok how bout tomorrow." I say smiling as well.
"Ok I'll pick you up around 3." He says nodding in satisfaction.
"Ok. See ya tomorrow." I say closing the door.
I walked to porch and looked back.
Ben was still sitting in his car making sure I got in ok.
I waved and he backed out.
That's the Ben I knew.
