Chapter 27// Broken Boy

"Why?" I ask as I sit down on Bens bed. The cold empty space surrounds us and the dust dances in the air.
Ben looks up at me confused but he clearly knew I was talking about.
"What?" He said chuckling.
"You know what I mean." I say still looking at him.
"I saw you. And Jackson. Why did you do it Rey?" He said standing up and walking to his window. When he did that it reminded me of when I thought he jumped out my window.
"Ben he kissed me. I didn't know he liked me like that." I say walking up behind him and putting my hand on his shoulder. He pulled away leaving my hand dropping to my side. What was his problem.
"Ben!" I yelled as he walked away.
"What Rey?! Your so manipulative and confusing that I'm so unsure about everything. So hesitant about my life. You make me feel so redundant all the time! I'm just done with all your shit." He says throwing his hands up in the air and yelling.
"I've been nothing but good to you Ben! Your the one who's broken inside! I can see it in your eyes!" I yell back. Tears threatening to fall from my eyes.
"I don't think this is going to work..." He says resting on his bed and cupping his face in his hands.
"What are you saying?" I ask heart broken at what he was saying.
"I'm saying I'm breaking up with you Rey! Just leave!" He says snapping and screaming at me.
I step back scared and walk out the door.
I was done with all of the things he's put me through. I wasn't taking it.
Before I walked out the door I turned back to Ben.
"Try that shit again and don't be surprised if I snap your arm in half. Goodbye Kylo." I say purposely calling him Kylo. I knew Ben and he was sweet and romantic. He loved me and adored me as I did the same for him.
But Kylo was a cold ruthless heart with a broken soul. He wasn't Ben. He was the opposite of Kylo. Kylo wasn't the man I wanted to be with.
I walk out the door and down the stairs. I open the door to walk outside and I see Mrs. Solo.
"Hello Rey ho-- Are you ok sweetie?" She asks noticing my tears.
"Oh hello mrs. Solo. Yeah I'm fine I'm just a little tired. I just need to go home and rest." I say wiping my tears.
"Oh ok dear. Have a nice night." She says as I walk past and walk down the sidewalk.
I look down at the sidewalk as I studied each crack in the cement. I pulled out my phone and called Finn. I needed to talk to him.
"Come on Finn pick up." I say walking down the sidewalk.
"Hello?" I hear Finn groggy voice answer.
"Finn! Thank god you picked up." I say thankful to hear his voice.
"Rey. It is 11 o'clock at night. What do you want?" I hadn't realize it was that late.
"I just needed someone to talk to." I say remembering our fight.
"What's wrong?" He asks sounding more awake.
"Ben and I broke up." I say breaking down and sobbing into the phone.
"Oh Rey. I'm so sorry." He says. I could hear the sorrow in his voice.
Then I hear someone in the background.
"Who is it?" I heard a tired voice ask.
I heard Finn try and cover the phone and answer.
"It's no one just go back to sleep." He says taking his hand off the phone.
"Did I interrupt anything?" I say realizing that voice was Poe.
"No! No! It's nothing." He says yawning through the phone.
"I'll let you go. You sound tired." I say half way to my house.
"Ok. Goodnight Rey." He says hanging up the phone.
As tears drip to the ground and my feet shuffling on the ground.
Why did everything in this world all of a sudden go wrong. Like everything was just peachy and now everything is upside down.
What the hell is going on?
