Once the school bus slowly creaked to a stop the entire bus stood up.
I had already told Poe and Finn about the Taco Bell date at this point and they both were super interested.
"So you went to his house. Worked on a project. He took you to Taco Bell. And then you had a really deep conversation in the car on the way back to his house?" Finn asked.
"He so likes you." Poe said lifting a brow.
"He does not!" I yell.
"If he doesn't than why did he take you to eat at some fancy restaurant?" Finn says puckering his lips.
"It's was Taco Bell!" I say. Both of them were utterly clueless.
BRRRIIINNNGGGG
The bell rang and soon enough the hallways were packed with students bustling to class.
Poe, Finn and I sat at our desks, eyes glued up on the board where Mr. Windu was talking about Dominant and recessive traits.
The more and more class went on the more and more I got board.
Uggghhhh. Why does class have to be so long?!
BRINGGG
Finally. The bell had rung.
I grabbed my stuff and made a dash for it out the door.
My next class was with Kylo so I was going to talk to him about the project.
I walked into class and sat in my desk.
I plopped down and saw that Hux and Phasma were talking up a storm.
Then I saw Kylo walk in. I looked down at my phone to check what time it was.
10:04 am
"Hey Rey." I heard a voice say from beside me.
I looked to my left and saw Kylo.
"Hey Kylo." I say smiling.
"Good morning class!" Ms. Kanata yelled. Obviously she wasn't the quiet type.
"Good morning Ms. Kanata." The class said in unison.
"Today we talking about Limericks and Haikus. Now can some one tell me the difference between the two?" Ms. Kanata said writing the words Haiku and Limericks on the board in big cursive letters.
I knew this! I raised my hand trying not to sound like a smart ass.
"Yes, uhhhh...." Ms. Kanata said looking down at a paper on her desk. Probably a seating chart.
"Rey." She said squinting back up at me.
"A Limerick has a rhythmic pattern. A Haiku usually has a syllable count. Normally it is 5/7/5 and it also has 3 lines." I say trying not to tremble.
"Very good Rey!" Ms. Kanata says smiling.
"How did you know that?" Kylo leans in close to me and whispers.
"My grandpa told me about it when he used to write Haikus to his secret lover." I say blushing.
"Someone had been doing their studying." Hux shoots me a look. I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not but I didn't like it.
"Ok class. Today since we are not working on your projects in class you will be given a set of lined paper. Your job is to write a three lined haiku with a syllable count of 6/7/6. And you will also write a Limerick as long as you want." Ms. Kanata says while passing out papers.
"Rey. I need your help!" Kylo harshly whispers.
"Ok what?" I ask leaning into his desk.
"What's a syllable count?" He asks absolutely confused on the concept.
"You know what a syllable is right?" I ask.
Kylo nods.
"So it's how many syllables there are in the sentence. So for example." I write down the fraise "Mary had a little lamb" on Kylo's paper.
"So you sound it out. Mar-y had a lit-le lamb. There are 7 syllables so that works. But if the sentence had more than 7 or 6 syllables than it can't work. So the order goes, 6 syllables. 7 syllables. 6 syllables. Ok?" I ask trying not to confuse him any more than he is.
"Yeah I got it. Thanks." He says smiling and working on his papers.
I decided to work on my Limerick first since those were my favorite. I had written them before so this was going to be pretty easy.
The sun sets on another day.
The moon shines in its place.
The trees dance in the wind,
While the flowers sing with excitement.
The street lamps complements the sidewalk.
And the lonely dog walks down the abandoned paths once spoken of before.
The cars stain the road with their tire tracks like the car before them.
"Not a single word about midnight Timmy. Because that's when the monsters come out to play"
The parents taunted their children as the adults imagination were blindfolded.
"Love kills creativity."
