Everything lately is a giant blue blur of depression. Nothing ever seemed to go right. It was like I was standing on the edge of a cliff and I was at the point of falling over the edge.
I heard my phone ringing in my bag.
I dug through my bag and pulled out my phone.
I answered it and there was no answer at first.
"Hello?" I ask into the phone for the second time.
"Rey?" I hear a voice ask.
"Who is this?" I ask completely clueless.
"It's Ben." I hear a faint voice say.
"Hey Ben what's up." I say into the phone. The way he was talking was kind of suspicious.
"Oh hey nothing much you?" He asks sounding completely normal now.
"Nothing." I say back slumping against my wall.
"Um I was calling to um.." He trailed off.
"Tooooo?" I ask extending the word.
"I don't know." He says sounding confused.
"So you just randomly picked up the phone and dialed my number?" I ask chuckling.
"I guess." He says chuckling as well.
"Ok." I say laughing.
"I guess I'll see you at 3 then." He says through the phone.
"Ok see ya then." I say hanging up the phone.
I click the end button on my phone and toss my phone on the my bed.
BB-8 jumps onto the bed and rolls on her back.
"You want a tummy rub?" I ask her in a baby voice.
He wags her tail non stop and sticks out her tongue.
I scratch her belly until I hear a knock on the door. It was most likely Ben.
I hop off of my bed and gallop down stairs.
I unlock the door and open it. I see Ben standing in the door way with a smile plastered on his face.
"Hi Ben!" I say showing a toothy smile.
"Hey Rey." He says stepping inside.
"Ready to go?" He asks.
"Yep let me just go get my shoes on and then we can go." I say running up stairs and entering my room.
I find BB-8 chewing on my on of my shoes so I take it from her. I slip on my shoes and go down stairs.
"Ok let's go." I say to Ben.
"Let's do it!" He says walking out the door.
We hop in the car and buckle up.
"So how's your day been." He says starting the conversation.
"Fine." I lie.
"Yours?" I ask rolling down the window. There was a light breeze blowing and I loved it when it was sunny outside.
"Eh." He says making a face.
"What's up?" I ask turning to him. He looked ok to me but I guess I didn't see past the skin.
"Amber has been...." He says trailing off awkwardly.
"She's been a handful lately." He says sort of whispering like Amber might hear or something.
"You don't have to whisper." I whisper back.
"I know but she's just been so clingy and delusional I don't know what to do." He says rubbing the back of his neck.
"Just tell her you need to breath and take a rest." I say reassuring him.
"I tell her that but she's so paranoid I can't go shopping at the grocery store any more by myself." He says clearly stressed out.
I didn't know what to say. I already had enough on my plate.
We stayed silent the rest of the rude listening to some soft music.
I didn't even know where we were going anyway just driving.
"Where are we going?" I ask looking out the window at all the speeding cars.
"I don't know. I guess we can just drive if you want." He says tapping the steering wheel with his index finger.
"Ok that's fine." I say leaning back in the seat.
We drove for what it seemed like an eternity.
"Rey...." Ben says looking disappointed.
"Yeah." I ask turning my head and looking at him.
"I-I'm so sorry." He says almost crying.
"Ben. I know you're sorry." I say rubbing his shoulder.
"And I forgive you." I say grinning. He looks up at me with the biggest smile possible.
That was the thing I loved about him. He was so happy that I forgave him even though he yelled at me and made me go through this horrible experience. He's still cares about me.
