SH19
I woke up after hours of sleep feeling so hungry. I fished for my phone under my pillow and turned it on. I saw that it was already 10pm. Damn. I slept that much?
I quickly got up and took with me my wallet. Without changing, mas naisipan ko pang kumain. What if the establishments were closed already? Ugh! And I can't look for Calamansi juice at this time. Dapat bumili na ako nong nasa syudad pa ako.
I stepped out at the hotel and walked on the shore. May mga ilaw pa naman and there are people who were having their night swimming. I immediately hugged myself as the cold breeze of air penetrated my skin. Nakalimutan kong magjacket dahil sa pagmamadali!
After a few minutes of walking, I saw an open restaurant across the street. I sighed. Wala kasing restaurant doon sa hotel. This resort is not that popular and it was even a bit isolated dahil nasa malayo siyang munisipyo.
I crossed the street and went to the 24/7 open restaurant. Lahat ata bulalo ang nasa menu nila kaya yon nalang ang inorder ko. I asked for Calamansi juice pero wala daw sila noon so I settled for lemonade instead.
After eating, kinuha ko ang wallet ko and right there, I realized na wala pa pala akong cash. Damn. This is so frustrating!
"Excuse me." I called for the waiter. "Do you know any ATM machine near here? Nakalimutan ko kasi mag withdraw."
"Agoy maam. Didto sa AIMcoop sa munisipyo. Layo kaayo." He gestured his hands pointing that it was far from where we are. Hindi ko alam ang mag bisaya or cebuano language but I think I understand what he meant.
"Uhm. Do you accept... I mean, tumatanggap ba kayo ng cards...credit card sa pagbayad?" I see that the waiter is local and he doesn't speak so much of other language.
"Oh maam. Mudawat mi." He answered.
I looked at him puzzled. Is it a yes or a no? Hindi ko kasi maintindihan. Nagsalita pa siya at tinuro ang counter kaya tumayo nalang ako at lumapit doon. There is petite woman sitting as the cashier. I looked at her and she glanced back at me. Nagtitigan lang kami for seconds and I have to clear my throat to stop her from staring at me.
"What can I do for you po Maam?" Napahinga ako. Sa wakas, may makakaintindihan pala ako dito.
"Do you accept cards for payment? Nakalimutan ko kasi mag withdraw kanina." I told her flashing her my Gold card. She smiled and nodded kaya mas napahinga pa ako lalo. I thought I would be in trouble dahil wala akong dalang cash. I handed her the card so I waited as she processed my bill.
"Maam. Here's your card. Thank you for coming." She smiled again and stared at me. Weird.
"Maam. Ang ganda niyo po. Artista po ba kayo? May shooting po kayo dito?" Biglaan nalang niyang tanong. So that explains her weird stares.
"Uhm no." I smiled again. "I am just here for a vacation."
"Gwapa jud kay ka Maam. Puti pa kaayo. Suya jud ko nimo Maam kay." She talked so fast that I am not able to comprehend what she said.
"Sorry. I can't understand." Hindi ko talaga naintindihan.
"Ayy. I mean Maam, ang puti puti po ninyo. Nakakainggit. Hehe." She scratched her head.
"Ahh." I nodded at her answer. Now that I remembered. "Wala ka bang alam na pwede kong bilhan dito ng Calamansi Juice? Or Kahit calamansi lang."
"Maam, malayo po dito ang mercado. Kailangan nyo pa pong sumakay ng sikad. Tsaka sarado na po yung mga tindahan doon maam."
I nodded. I guess no Calamansi for tonight. I gave her another smile as I turned my heels. Bumalik ako sa hotel saka nagshower at nagpalit ng damit. When I was about to sleep, I remembered Earl.
