“A-ano?” My jaw dropped after hearing my Mamu and Silver’s Mom’s plan. I just can’t believe they would let me do that. I don’t even believe that I can also do that.

“Please Violet. For my Son, I can’t afford to let him be in danger anymore. I know, you can take care of him. I trust you on that. So please, pumayag ka na.” Tita Kath pleaded. She touched my arms and rubbed it for pleasing me.

 

“Anak, Violet. Yun din naman ang gusto mo diba? This is a win – win situation where everyone benefits and will be happy.” Pati na ang Mamu ko, pinipilit ako. But I can’t.

 

“I-I can’t. Magagalit saakin si Silver. He will never forgive me if gagawin ko yan.” I refused. Hindi ko talaga kaya ang pinapagawa nila. Nasasaktan nga akong hindi ko mapuntahan si Silver dahil galit siya saakin, much more if kamumuhian niya ako dahil nanaman sa isang katangahang gagawin ko.

 

“He can’t remember anything so you don’t have to worry. Besides, we already told him that you’re his lover and fiancée.” Silver’s mom defended.

Napatakip nalang ako ng mukha ko due to frustration and confusion. What should I do? Silver had been awake for a day and I didn’t even see him because I am afraid to do so. Baka sigawan lang niya ako at palabasin. All I can do is to confirm that he was safe and in a right condition, well… not totally right because he had an amnesia and I felt bother about that.

Why? My Mom and his Mom have had this plan in which they want me to pretend as Silver’s fiancée while Silver can’t still remember anything. I will be the one taking care of him and will look out for him. God knows how I’d love to do so but I am afraid. What if in just a second while I am pretending to be his girl, he’ll remember Scarlet? He’ll hate me again for that and just like de ja vu, he’ll push me away from him. If the consequence is having Silver away from me then I’d rather stay in my zone, the bestfriend slash sister-like zone.

“No Mamu. Di ko kaya yan. It was just a temporary amnesia and when Silver remembers, he’ll be angry for this. Naiintindihan nyo naman ako diba?” I looked at Mamu then to Tita Kath. I saw willingness in their eyes, but still, Tita Kath’s expression’s obviously sad.

 

“We will make sure that by that time, you are already married and he’s already tied to you.” My Mamu answered. Again, I face palmed. They just don’t get my point.

 

“Mamu naman eh. Silver doesn’t love me and when he gets to know everything, he’ll hate me. ” I retorted. Ang kulit din nila eh no? Sabi na ngang mas lalo lang gugulo ang lahat sa plano nila.

 

“My son loves you.” Tita Kath whispered but enough for us to hear it. She looked down and sighed. Now, they’re even making stories just to convince me. “Im his mother so I know so Violet. He just can’t realize it. And now is the right time for him to do so.”

 

“Pero paano po pag hindi po pala?” I quickly argued. My decision was final. I. Wont. Pretend. As. Silver’s. Fiancée. Okay?

 

“And what if it is?” My Mamu asked back. “Would you let Silver end up with Scarlet. Ikaw na rin mismo nagsabi Violet that Scarlet is just toying Silver. You love Silver and you just can’t let that happen.”
