"Hello Amelia" Andy Harries greeted me. That was the difference between him and my father, Andy Harries was so formal, I guess he's one of those people who everyone envies because of his money and he knows it. I nodded at him acknowledging what he said, then he carried on speaking.

"Your father was just telling me how you also go to Springbank Academy just like the twins. Where have they got to anyway?" Andy said turning his attention from me to the door just as Jack and Finn walked in. Jack looked really worried. Then Rebecca (their mum) called out inviting us all in to the dining room, I knew this was a big house, but what, did they have a pre -dining room? This house was crazy.

We all went in to the dining room and sat down. I sat in between my mother and father, and noticed Jack purposely sat as far away from me as possible. Why was that. Ten minutes before and he was quite the opposite. Although before I said I didn't want to find out, by then I kind of did want to know what was up. Jack never looks phased by anything but he looked like he was going to be sick.

Jack sat in between his sister and his mother, his mother sat between...

To make it easier. My mum, me, my dad, Mr.Harries, Finn, Emmy-Lou, Jack, Rebecca. But all around the table. My father and theirs continued to discuss their business proposal. My mother and their mother were talking about how "technologically advanced teenagers are nowadays" and Finn was laughing with Emmy. I watched Jack, he was just staring at the empty plate in front of him, he turned around and saw me looking at him, but I just couldn't look away. I felt my cheeks blush but now he looked so vulnerable that I didn't care. What the hell was wrong with him.

I turned to my mum and Rebecca "Mrs.Harries, would you mind if I went out for some fresh air?"

"Of course honey, you can go to the front garden through that door right there" she said pointing to the door at the front of the room. I got up and walked to the door and sat on their front steps with my head in my hands, I really had no idea what to do, I felt bad that Jack was upset but seriously? He had pretended that he was interested in me when really it was just some stupid game.  I heard sobbing and walked around the corner of the house to see a girl, sitting on the floor outside the gate crying her eyes out. I walked over and looked through the gate.

"Hey, are you okay?"

She turned around and I realised she must have been there for a while, her eyes were bright red and mascara was running down her face alongside her tears.

It was Lucy.

"What are you doing here" she spat at me.  I turned away,   "I'm here for a family meeting with the Harries. Don't worry you have no competition with me. I'm really not interested."

I turned and walked around the corner sitting back down on the step like before. I took my phone from my pocket, unlocking it and scrolling through my contacts to find Jack.   The phone rang only twice before he picked up. "Hello? Amelia? Where are you, I never saw you leave."

"I didn't, i'm outside in the front garden"

"Okay, wait."  He just hung up and then 5 seconds later I heard the door and he came and sat next to me.

"Why did you call me?"

"You have a visitor, it's Lucy, she seems upset and I think you should maybe check on her. Since she's your girlfriend."

He looked guilty then. He told me he'd broken up with her but he was lying. He went quiet and then looked at the floor.   "But Amelia. She's lying. She's saying i'm the father but I know that's impossible."

I immediately felt sick to my stomach. So that was what all this is about. She's pregnant, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was the father. "Jack. You can't just leave her now, if it is you, you need to take responsibility. If you don't think it's you, you can take a paternity test, but you can't just leave her not knowing, it's not fair." I had no idea why I was being nice, considering he's maybe got his girlfriend pregnant and I was the one who thought he was interested in me.

"But I know it's not me. It's not possible. She's three months and I was away for a month to go to Dubai don't you remember? Well you wouldn't you didn't really know me then. Anyway, why are you trying to help us, you probably hate me."

"Not too far off Jack. But i'm helping another girl, who foolishly fell for your good looks just like I did. And just like me, is really regretting that they ever did. Maybe after this has happened you'll realise that when girls say they love you they're not lying like you are. Maybe you'll change and take us more seriously. But I doubt that." I got up and left him there, walking back in to the dining room.

By then a bowl of soup was in each of our places. I sat down and Jack came in soon after I did. He leaned over and passed me my phone. Oops, I'm a forgetful person. I thanked him then started eating. I realised that I needed to get over Jack, before it's too late because it had only been a day but it felt like longer. I felt like Jack wasn't really a player even though I knew he was. I was meant to be a strong minded and a studious girl but instead I found myself thinking of Jack Harries and Jack Harries only.

A/N

I'm really sorry for the short chapters, I was just really distracted today, and I said I was going to update on mondays, wednesdays and fridays which didn't happen but i'll try to do that in the future.

Just to clear it up before I get comments because it's not very clear and a bit confusing. I know Jack and Finn are both 20, but in this fanfiction they are going to be 16/17 because it fits better and they are in the same classes as Amelia Richardson who is also 16.

If you've read thankyou and if you enjoyed it please vote and follow me!
