I stayed a week in the hospital before Doctor Kim decided to discharge me. Nakaupo kami malapit sa exit ng hospital habang hinihintay namin si Sandra at Ivan matapos magbayad sa cashier.
"Tonie, this is my private number. I am very much willing to be a witness when you will be pulling this matter in court. I will pray that you will be able to talk to your mom soon." Sabi ni Doc sabay lagay ng kapirasong papel sa palad ko at isinara iyon.
"Doc maraming salamat po. Sasabihan ko kayo ASAP. Pero for the mean time kailangan ko munang makaisip ng paraan para makatakas kila Ivan. They have my fake passport and papers." Sagot ko habang nakatitig sa magkahawak naming kamay.
"You do that; I will be handling all your expenses. Just stay safe, for you and for your family." Napapikit ako ng biglang sumakit ang ulo ko at naalala ko ang boses ng isang lalakeng nagsasabi ng parehas na linya.
"Stay safe for me and for Lorraine."
Lorraine, yun siguro ang pangalan nung batang babae. What a very pretty name.
"A-are you okay Tonie?" I snap my eyes open to see Doc Kim looking worried. I smile at her, "Yes doc, just some pretty memories flashing."
Napangiti rin siya, "What triggered it?"
