Wasn't expecting that

Travelling

It's coming towards the end of Raf's shift and he is rather tired after a whole night of Cara tossing and turning and being up and down from the toilet.

"So your off on holiday with Cara today?" Morven asks as she knows Cara was packing this morning.  Raf nods and smiles. "Where to?" Morven asks.

"Just a few miles out near Great Malvern" Raf smiles.

"She'll like that" Morven smiles.

"I hope so" he replies.

"I'd take her for a walk in the hills but I'm not risking it with how close to her due date she is" Raf explains.

Morven laughs, "yeah that wouldn't be the best of ideas" she laughs.
"She's been really agitated about it lately, have you noticed?" she asks.

"Well she's been on maternity leave for the past two weeks and a half, she's bound to be getting agitated" Raf says.

"Well I guess you better make her relax when you take her away" Morven smiles.

Raf laughs a little "not too relaxed I don't want her waters breaking on me" he smirks.

"Don't even say anything like that to her Raf" Morven says.

"I'm not planning on it" he smiles.

"Good, oh and by the way, after you left this morning she was really grumpy; just to warn you" Morven laughs.

"Doesn't surprise me one bit" Raf says as he heads off the ward.

Raf gets himself changed before heading to Cara's.

He picks Cara up and they head off. "How are you today?" he asks simply.

Cara grumbles to herself and huffs "I'm uncomfortable and I feel like I'm going to pop" Cara says.

Raf laughs, "try to cheer up, you can relax with me for a few days" he smiles.

"How can I... Raf you book a  frigging holiday a week before my due date" Cara huffs.

"Sorry" he apologises.

"What if I go into labour? What the hell are you meant to do then?" Cara says.

"You won't" Raf smiles

"I feel huge, am I huge?" she panics.

Raf goes quiet for a bit and glances at Cara, "no, no your just cute and..." Raf stops himself before he says chubby.

"And what?" she says.

"And nothing your just really sweet" he smiles as he strokes her knee

"I'm going out of my mind at home, it's terrible, I miss you" she says.

Raf smiles "I promise you... You can move in once I've got the room" he says.

"You mean once you've kicked Fletch out... I said don't do it... You keep him, he's your best friend... Like I said you can come round for a few hours after work, and you can stop when you have a day off" Cara says.
