I sat looking at my phone and at the name "Calum". Just press call I kept saying to myself. But I couldn't. I had a good week at work and mum offered to take Zack for the weekend. So now I had nothing to do. I know I said come the Friday I would ask him but now I wasn't so sure. I had saved his number and I assumed he saved mine because I was able to see his whatsapp picture of him and his son. His son was very cute and looked like him. I noticed he had changed his picture so I went to look at it. But no. Me and my clumsy fingers ends up pressing the whatsapp call button.
"Shit!" I said and hung up. The problem with the whatsapp call is as soon as you press call it rings straight away. I was so annoyed because I knew he would see the missed call and how was I going to explain that? Couldn't blame Zack again. My phone started ringing and it was him. I answered.
"Heyyy Calum."
"Hey Alex. Was that your son again?" He asked making me laugh.
"Nope. This time that was me." I confessed.
"Oh. So why did you hang up?" He asked. I sighed. How was I going to explain this?
"Well, I never meant to call you..."
"Oh..."
"But...I was going to call you. Just not via whatsapp." We both laughed. I was glad for the laughter.
"So I take it you had a reason to why you had intentions of calling me?" He asked.
"I did, I did...I was wondering if the offer was still open for if I was every feeling hungry...?"
"Yeah it still is...so when was it you feeling hungry?" He asked.
"Today...now?" I asked shyly.
"Okay cool. Well how about I send you the address of a nice restaurant and we can meet there? Or if you are happy for me to pick you up I can do that?" He suggested.
"Send me the address if you don't mind."
"Yeah course. No problem. Okay so how about we meet for eight?"
"Okay. See you then." I said then hung up. I smiled and got ready. I didn't want to overdress but I did want to look cute. I laughed because I don't know why I was doing all of this. Yeah I wanted company but that is all it would ever be.
I was not at all ready to like someone or even be in a relationship. I decided to put on a grey midi dress and a nice pair of heels. Not too dressed up and not too young looking. If I didn't wear heels I looked about twelve. I was of a fair complexion with hazel eyes. I had long brown curly hair which I wore always in one leaving the back to be bushy. I think that's what made me look young. Today I decided to put in a donut bun to the side. That's the only way I can look like I'm twenty four. That and I have that mummy body. Zack made me fill out in all the right places. Even my stomach doesn't look as if I had a child but I guess because I work out that's why.
I looked at the address and it wasn't far from me which was good because I only had half hour to get to the restaurant. I drove to the restaurant and was indeed nervous. Apart from the girls and my mum and work I hadn't had any other form of company. Least of all men. As I got to the restaurant I saw that he was already here waiting outside. The restaurant was beautiful. It was called 'Jackie's' but if the inside matched the outside then this was indeed going to be a new spot of mine. I parked and made my way towards him. Once he noticed me he smiled. He had such a beautiful smile. He was very tall. Had a dark complexion but he looked like his skin was constantly glowing. He had dimples just like myself and I always found that attractive on a man.
"Hey, you look beautiful." He said to me.
"Not too bad yourself" I said smiling at him.
"Shall we?" He said as he held the door open for me. I entered the building and a waiter came over to us.
