#8 :: Not Everything Is Shared

I was glad to be at work. I got to be around Tasha more for a start. Plus it made me feel good. Not to just always be at home being just a mother. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. But my life was so much more. I wanted to do more for them. I was saving so I could study in the evenings. I wanted my kids to look up to me and idolise me.

It was lunch time and me and Tasha decided to go out to eat.

"Hey baby momma you ready?" I said popping my head through her office door.

"Yep. Just waiting for these papers to finish printing. I'll be out in a second."

"Okay I'm going to be by the car." I said as I headed to the car.

"So where do you want to eat?" Tasha said as she came out?

"Where can we go and come back in a hour?"

"Girl, you are with me. Who says you only have an hour?"

"I have longer?"

"Perks of being friends with the boss!" She said as we got in her car.

We drove until we found a nice Chinese buffet. Which was rare to find these days. Once inside we got a few starters and nibbled on them as we caught up.

"So how's things with you and Delano? And Cassy? Did you ever go to meet her?"

"Ha! I did indeed..." I then went on and told her about the day I met her and what she said and also about Delano not having my back.

"Wow. She really is trying to test your patience isn't she?"

"I told Delano he will become a full time parent to three kids because I'll kill Cassy and then I'll be in jail for it."

"You are crazy." Tasha said laughing.

"I put up with so much disrespect over the years with Sonny. I let who I was go. I was manipulated and bullied by a man who was meant to be the love of my life. No Cassy is not the love of my life but she has those manipulating ways like Sonny and it gets under my skin. Delano can't see it and we haven't really been the same since."

"You can't let her come between you two. That's what she wants."

"I'm not! Delano is! He doesn't believe me or doesn't believe that Cassy wants to cause harm to us!"

"Okay.. so until she shows her true colours you need to keep your family strong. Then when she does at least you lot are stronger than before. Say she strikes now? You and Delano ain't on good terms. You have fallen right into what she wants."

I thought about what Tasha was saying. Hated to admit it but she was right.

"You're right. As usual! Anyway enough about me. You mentioned Reece has been staying with you?"

"Yeah he has. Just until I get used to being in my own home. I'll admit it's hard. He's being respectful to my decision and being there as a best friend but sometimes I want him to not be so respectful to my decision."

I started laughing. It was indeed weird hearing Tasha talk like this but I did understand.

"What do you want T? Like really?"
