Now that we had uttered those three little words, eight letters to each other, Carter and I grew even closer, if that was possible. Secure in our own feelings for each other, I couldn't bare a minute apart from him. However, I did still feel uneasy about how dependant I'd become of him.

Christmas had come and gone, where I had gotten spoilt completely. Rowan being Rowan, had gotten me another lingerie set, with an extremely pretty pair of heels that I absolutely loved. In return, I had gifted her a brand new faux leather handbag (I'm too much of an animal lover), some makeup and a pair of bum lifting skinny jeans which I knew she had been eyeing up. She literally squealed when she saw them.

As for my family, they had completely spoiled me. I practically owned a whole new wardrobe of clothes, a bunch of makeup, money, running clothing and trainers- etc etc. But, I spent the better half of my nights pondering on what to get Carter until I settled on buying him a new hoodie, since he had gave me his. So, I bought the exact same hoddie but had it personalised on the back in small print to say his exact record on every event he competed in at the competition, then had my name sewn in white script writing under the bottom of his sleeve, so when he folded it over he would see my name.

"You can look at it when you are thinking of me." I smiled.

He gave me a massive hug, and said it was perfect.

I also gave him a new bottle of cologne, and he gifted me with a clearly expensive necklace. It was a C shape, with both of our birthstones on it- amethyst and ruby.

"Oh my god, it's beautiful!" I said, letting him clasp it around my neck. He also gave me a bottle of perfume.

It was now New Year's Eve, and my family's tradition was to watch all the celebrations across the UK and globally, then binge watch some old comedy shows that came on afterwards. However, Carter had picked me up at half ten at night and drove me to his place to celebrate.

"Are you sure your parents won't mind?" I asked.

"It was their idea." He winked at me.

He led me in his house, where I could instantly hear loud chatter and laughter. He walked me into the living room, which was full of tons of people I couldn't recognise- young, old, inbetween.

"Maybe I should have told you most of the family was around." He said into my ear.

"Um, yeah, you should've. I would have dressed up nicer and brought some chocolates or something!"

He kissed me behind my ear. "I think you look perfect."

Before he picked me up, I had changed out of my pjs into a pair of leggings with a loose, holed, grey top thrown over the top with a new pair of Nike white and silver leopard print air max theas I had gotten for Christmas. I already had on the necklace he gave me- I rarely took it off unless I had to, and I was already wearing his hoodie.

"Everyone else here is pretty much in casuals too, you know."

I rolled my eyes, realising he was right.

"Branwen!" His mum walked over to us and pinched my cheek, a glass of wine in her other hand. "Gosh, you're even beautiful without any of that makeup on. You got lucky, son."

Carter blushed a little and looked at his feet.

"Anywho, don't just stand there, come mingle with us! You're practically family now."

She linked her arm through mine and walked me into the large space between the living room and kitchen next to the stairs, where a lot of their family were dancing. They even had some pool tables out, and I could see a large stereo with a surround system where Jack had DJ'd before.
