Cal and I are now sitting in his car, driving towards the last place Tristan was seen.

"This is a bad idea," Cal mutters.

"Oh, come on," I say. "He isn't that bad."

Cal raises an eyebrow.

"I have my doubts," he replies.

"You've never really talked to him," I say.

"Yes, I did," Cal replies. "And that didn't end well."

That's true. Cal and Tristan did talk over the phone. They just argued. And they hated each other ever since. Add on that Cal tried to put Tristan in jail and, well, yeah, they hated each other.

"Give him a chance," I roll my eyes.

Cal sighs.

"Fine," he groans. "But only for you."

He smiles at me then looks back at the road. After awhile he stops the car when I see Tristan. He's currently robbing someone. Cal starts to unbuckle his seat belt but I stop him.

"I've got this," I say.

I get out of the car before Cal can object. I walk up behind Tristan quietly just as he finishes saying, give me your money. The girl he's robbing is fiddling with her purse trying to get out her money. I put my arm on Tristan's shoulder.

"Don't give it to him," I say.

Tristan looks over at me with wide eyes. When he's not looking, the girl runs. Tristan puts his gun down.

"Morgan," he says. "You're..."

He looks me up and down.

"Looking well," he finishes.

"You don't look so bad yourself," I reply.

"Why are you here?" he asks. "I haven't seen you in a year. How did the Garmin thing go?"

"Garmin's dead," I say. "But another monster is rising and we need your help."

"We?" Tristan questions.

"The Monstruum Infectores," I say.

"How would I help?" Tristan asks.

"The monster, for one, is called It," I start. "And he can only die at the hand of a male human."

"So why me?"

"Because you already know about all this stuff," I explain. "And you already know kinda how to fight."

"Kinda?" Tristan raises an eyebrow. "I bet I could beat you fighting."

I roll my eyes.

"In your dreams," I reply. "So, will you help?"

"I'll help," Tristan says. "But is that Cal person still there?"

I sigh.

"You already said you'd help," I say. "But yeah."

Tristan groans.

"He's not that bad," I say.

"I have my doubts," Tristan replies.

"I literally just had this conversation with Cal," I mutter.

"Wait," Tristan says. "He's here?"

I nod and Tristan lets out another groan. I grab his arm and pull him to the car.

"No backing out now, Ronnings," I say to Tristan.

Once we get to the car, Tristan gets into the back, scowling at Cal.
