Once I was out of the training room, I decide I really need to settle things with Bella. I pick up my phone and dial her number. I put the phone up to my ear and wait. And wait. And wait some more. It goes to voicemail so I quickly hang up.

I call back. After four rings, she finally picks up. Her breath sounds like it's going fast and I hear a bit of russling in the background.

"What," Bella demands.

"Bella," I say. "We've gotta work things out. It sucks without you."

"Sure, yeah," she replies. "We can try. But I'm busy right now."

"Is someone with you?" I ask her.

She's quiet a moment.

"No..." she replies.

"Who's with you?" I ask.

"Somebody," Bella says.

I roll my eyes.

"Well, can we meet at the Anaconda sometime soon?" I ask.

"Fine," Bella replies. "Tomorrow at noon."

"See you then."

Bella hangs up as do I. I start walking and jump when a hand comes down on my shoulder. I turn around to see a soldier, who I believe is named Jack, standing behind me. These people and coming up behind people; honestly.

"Trauno wants to see you," he says.

I nod then turn my direction towards her office. I knock then walk through the doors.

"You wanted to see me?" I ask.

"Yes," Trauno replies. "We've just gotten word that It has built an army. We need you and Cal to protect Tristan. And make him stay at the apartment building."

"Why Cal and I?" I ask.

Trauno shrugs.

"You two are the only ones staying in the apartments at the current time," she replies. "And you were the first two who came to mind."

"Okay," I say slowly. "I don't know where either Cal or Tristan are at the current moment, though."

"Then go and find Cal," Trauno responds. "Stacy is training with Tristan right now."

I nod and walk out when she dismisses me. I start walking around looking for Cal, to almost run into him when he's turning a corner.

"Hey again," I say.

"Hi, Mo," Cal replies. "I've been looking for Sam but I can't find him anywhere."

"He's probably with Lizzy," I shrug.

"Probably," Cal says.

"So, anyway," I start. "Trauno called me to her office a couple minutes ago. She said that It has built an army so we have to protect Tristan."

"Uck," Cal groans. "Why us?"

"We were the first people who popped into her mind."

"Why couldn't you just say no?" Cal asks.

"You can go tell her no for yourself, because Tristan's my friend," I say.

Cal groans again.

"I seriously hate him," Cal hisses.

"I'm not forcing you to talk to him, Cal," I reply.

He rolls his eyes at me.

"Either way," I continue. "We were given a mission and we're gonna do it, if you like it or not. It's just like how you had to protect me."
