I'm in the training room shooting arrows in front of a line of targets. Cal is with me; he's supposed to be shooting, too, but he's just staring at me. I shoot an arrow then look over at him.
"Why are you staring at me?" I ask.
"I'm not staring," he replies. "I'm simply glancing."
I roll my eyes then turn back to my target. I shoot an arrow and then another. I sense Cal looking at me so I glance in his direction. He is.
"What?" I ask.
"You know that we're gonna find Avail Firi, right?" he asks. "We're gonna find him and we're gonna make sure he never hurts anybody ever again."
"I know," I sigh.
That's what they think. Avail Firi can disappear within a second. He's stronger than probably anyone here. He can make fire in his freaking hand!
"And I can shake the ground with my mind," Cal says. "We're gonna be fine."
"Please don't do that," I say.
I turn back to my target and knock an arrow. I shoot it and it hits the eight place. I'm not always the best shot.
"I'm gonna read your mind when you're like this," Cal replies.
"Like what, exactly?" I demand.
"Scared," he says. "I can't always know what you're thinking by your face, so I need to do that at times. And I can't always help it. Sometimes my mind just does that without my consent. Especially when you aren't feeling like yourself."
"You don't need to worry about me," I say.
"Of course I'm gonna worry," Cal replies.
I sigh and knock an arrow. I don't want anyone to worry about me. I'm perfectly fine. Besides the fact that an angry god who had his whole family killed in front of him is coming after me. And I'm pretty sure I'm not Zeus' favorite kid. Aren't there like thousands? I honestly don't know. I let go of the string and the arrow zooms thru the air. I knock another arrow and am about to shoot but Cal steps in front of me.
"Geez," I say. "I could've shot you!"
Cal shrugs. I take my arrow off the string and stick it back in my quiver.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing," he replies.
I raise an eyebrow. Okay then.
"Well, could you move then?" I ask. "I'm trying to practice here."
I smile a bit.
"What you do to me, Mo," Cal says as he wraps his arm around my waist.
"What're you doing?" I ask.
"I'm kissing my girlfriend," he replies then puts his lips against mine.
I put my hand on the back of his head, running my fingers through Cal's hair. He pulls me closer still and deepens our kiss. I then hear a voice from behind us.
"Ew," Sam says. "Get a room."
Cal pulls away from me and looks over at him.
"Technically, this was our room," he replies.
"Technically, this is the training room," Sam says. "I don't know what you guys are training for, but it must be some sort of battle, being that this is a training room. What, you going to kill the bad guys with your tongue work?"
I roll my eyes then start walking away,
"I'm gonna go train elsewhere."
I walk out the door and down the hall. Ya'know, it's weird. Usually Tristan is hanging around me right now. And now he isn't. I wonder where Bella is. I see Axel walking up to me. Ugh.
