I'm overreacting. Tristan and I decide to wait closer to the training room for somebody to come out. After about five minutes, people start to come out. I go over to Cal once he's out.

"How'd it go?" I ask.

"It went fine," he replies.

"Why'd it take so long?" I demand.

"There were malfunctions in the system," Cal explains. "Other than that, it was perfectly fine. Trauno is letting Bella become part of the MI and assigned somebody to train her."

"That's good," I say. "So where is she now?"

"I'm pretty sure she's still with Sam."

"M'kay," I say.

I look behind me and see Tristan standing a few feet away. I raise an eyebrow at him. He looks back at me. There's a strange look in his eyes that I can't really decipher.

I hear the training room doors open so I turn to look there. I see Bella and Sam walking out.

"Hey," I greet. "I heard it went well."

Bella shrugs.

"It went fine," she replies.

And so starts an awkward silence.

"I'm going to... Go talk to my trainer," Bella finally says, walking away.

I look back to where Tristan was standing to find him nowhere in in sight. I turn to Sam and Cal.

"I'm gonna go find Tristan," I say. "See ya around, Sam."

"Bye," he replies.

I turn away and start looking for Tristan. I find him after awhile in one of the empty rooms. He's pacing and muttering under his breath.

"Tristan?" I say in a questioning voice. "Is something wrong?"

Tristan looks up, startled.

"Um, yeah..." he trails off.

I raise an eyebrow.

"Answer me with the truth now," I say.

Tristan lets out a long sigh. He looks back at me and smiles.

"I'm fine," he says. "I was having one of my flash-"

He cuts himself off.

"You were having a what?" I question.

Tristan lets out another sigh.

"I've had these random flashbacks ever since... my parents died," he says. "I had to get away from everything. People never help."

"Why do you think you've been having flashbacks?" I ask.

"I... I didn't tell you everything about what happened when they died."

"What didn't you tell me?" I ask Tristan. "If it isn't too picky."

"I was in the car," he sighs. "With my parents on that day. I should've died. Not my parents."

My eyes widen.

"It happened so quickly," Tristan continues. "I didn't know what had happened until I hit the pavement. I was thrown out of the car and my parents died."

"I didn't know..." I trail off. "Are you okay?"

Tristan gives me a weak smile then nods his head.

"I'll be fine," he replies.

I walk over to him and wrap my arms around him. He hugs me back and puts his face close to my neck. He sucks in a long breath as if trying to stop himself from something. Like crying. I rub his back before letting him go.

"You okay?" I ask.

"I'm fine," Tristan answers. "Um, Cal's gonna be wondering where you are... You should go back. I need a minute."

"Okay," I say. "If you need me, just come and find me. I'll be there."

Tristan gives a grateful smile and I leave. I go back to where I left Sam and Cal to find them standing a few feet away from that spot, talking.

"What was up with Tristan?" Sam asks when I walk over.

I simply shrug.

"Nothing," I reply. I shall lie. "He said he just didn't like Cal's presence so close so he left."

Cal snorts.

"My presence?" he questions. "Please. My presence is wonderful."

I roll my eyes.

"Just keep believing that," Sam says, patting Cal's shoulder. "Then maybe it'll come true."

"Oh, but it already is," Cal replies. "You wouldn't last two minutes without me."

"Please," Sam snorts. "Lasted two years."

Cal rolls his eyes.

"Either way," he says.

Tristan appears out of the corner of my eye to be bombarded by Stacy. I stop paying attention after that.

"I'll catch up with you guys later,"  I say. "Gonna go train."

"See ya," Sam replies.

"Bye, Mo," Cal says.

I leave and go to one of the training rooms. I turn on one of the holograms and get on the mat it's standing on. I get in a fighting stance then attack the hologram.

It jumps away from my attack then fires a blow at my head. I duck underneath its fist and kick its legs out from under it. It falls down but quickly gets up. It shoves a fist into my stomach then kicks me in the side. I stumble back. I quickly regain my balance and kick the hologram in the stomach.

It stumbles back and falls to the ground, hitting its head on the floor and knocking itself out. I turn off the hologram and put a few targets up. Instead of shooting my arrows, I decide on practicing my aim with my lightning.

I put my hand up and shoot at the target. It hits a bit to the right of the middle. I shoot lightning again and the wood splits. I go to the next targets and fire until that wood splits. I continue on like that until I'm out of targets.

I put down my hand then empty the training room. I leave and decide I'm hungry. I head towards the cafeteria. Once I get there, I quickly grab an apple and sit down at a table.

I grab out my phone as it starts ringing. I look at the ID and gasp at who it is. My mother. Well, not my real mom. The one who drank and never cared about me. And then I found out that she was in Garmin's army; yeah, that one.

I haven't spoken to her in a year. I pick up the phone out of curiosity.

"What?" I demand.

"Morgan," She says. "I need to tell you something. Are you alone?"

I look around.

"No," I reply.

"Go somewhere that you're alone. I don't want anyone overhearing this."

"Why?" I question.

"Because it's important," she says.

"So, after everything you've done to me, you expect me to believe you?"

"Just do this one thing and I'll leave you be."

I let out an exasperated sigh.

"Fine," I give in.
