Once Bella leaves, I go to find Cal and Tristan. I find them in a corner arguing their guts out but stop when they see me.

"How'd everything go?" Cal asks.

"Fine," I shrug. "She wants me to ask Trauno if she can join the MI."

Cal's eyebrows raise.

"What'd you say?" Tristan asks.

"I said I would," I reply. "And I will. Did you bother anybody with your fighting?"

Cal shrugs.

"Probably," Tristan replies.

I roll my eyes.

"We should get back to the factory," Cal states. "You have to ask Trauno about Bella. And you have to get more training."

We leave Anaconda and drive back to the factory, Cal and Tristan fighting the whole time. I give up on trying to stop them from fighting. Because they won't. I pull into the parking lot and Tristan immediately jumps from the car. I raise an eyebrow as I get out, too.

We walk into the factory and I head for Trauno's office. I knock on the door.

"Come in," her voice calls out.

I open the door and go in.

"What do you need?" Trauno asks.

"I was just at the Anaconda with an acquaintance of mine," I start off. "And she knows about all of this stuff. And, um, she wants to join the MI."

Trauno's eyebrow raises.

"Can she fight?" Trauno asks.

"She's been in different kinds of fighting classes since she was eight," I reply. "I think she could really help us."

"She would of course still have to train," Trauno says. "But who could train her? Who is she, anyway?"

"Her name is Bella," I reply.

"Bring her in," Trauno says. "Let's see what she's made of."

"When?" I ask.

"Now. I'll get Sam to fight her. He and Cal have experience different from any other of us."

"I'm not sure that's a very good idea..." I trail off.

Actually, that's a horrible idea. I mean, that may be one of the worst ideas that have come out of her mouth.

"And why not?" Trauno questions.

"I guess the only way I can put it is... They're kinda together," I reply.

"You and Cal are kinda together and you still fight each other," she replies.

That's true. But it'd be really awkward.

"Call Bella," Trauno orders. "Tell her to go to the factory."

I nod then leave. I grab my phone and scroll through my contacts. I click Bella's and then then call button. It rings a couple times before she picks up.

"What'd Trauno say?" she asks.

"Go to the abandoned factory some miles outside of town," I say. "I'll tell you the rest when you're there."

"Okay," Bella says, hanging up.

I go out the front door, glancing around for Tristan and Cal. Nowhere to be seen. I walk through the front doors and wait.

Is it such a good idea to have Bella fight Sam? He was in Garmin's army. That means he'd have good fighting skills. Probably better than anybody in the MI. He and Cal both. After a few minutes, Bella's car pulls up in the parking lot and she gets out.

"Why am I here?" she questions. "You better not of brought me here to murder me."

"I didn't," I reply. "This is the MI's base. Trauno wants your skills in fighting to be tested. Which is where it's kinda weird..."

"Just spit it out," Bella snaps.

"You've gotta fight Sam."

"Oh," Bella says. "Okay. I'm fine with that. But why him?"

"He has training from Garmin's army," I answer. "Which is different from what the MI has."

"Oh."

We walk into the factory.

"Holy," Bella mutters.

"You sure about becoming part of this?" I ask.

"Yeah," Bella says.

"Okay. You have to meet Trauno."

We go to her office and walk in. Bella's eyes widen.

"Don't stare at her that," I whisper yell then speak in my normal voice. "I'll go find Sam."

I leave and start looking for Sam. I walk down a hall but there's no sign of him. After awhile of looking, I finally find him.

"Sam," I say.

He looks at me.

"Hey," he greets, an uneasy tone in his voice.

"I'm here to talk about Bella," I begin.

Sam's eyes widen.

"Not that," I say quickly. "I couldn't care less about that. But, she wants to join the MI. And Trauno wants to see her fighting skills. And you're supposed to fight Bella."

"Oh, okay," he says. "When?"

"Now," I reply.

Sam nods his head and walks towards the training room. I see Trauno walking with Bella.

"You found him," she says, looking at me. "Good. Cal is already in the training room with Tristan. You're gonna take him off Cal's hands."

"Okay," I reply.

I walk through the doors of the training room and stand next to Cal.

"Hi," I say.

"Hey," he replies. "I don't think that having Bella fight Sam is a good idea."

"Me neither."

"We had more training in Garmin's army than the MI," Cal continues. "The things we were taught were very advanced and I don't think she can handle that yet."

"Neither do I. But let's have hope Sam won't accidentally kill her."

"Or hope she's better than we think," Cal says. "Or that Sam will go easier on her."

"We're worrying too much," I sigh. "What's the worst that can happen?"

Cal looks down at me.

"A lot, Mo," he replies. "A lot."

I raise my eyebrow.

"I'm just here to take Tristan off your hands," I say.

"Thank Zeus," Cal mutters under his breath.

I gesture to Tristan who's standing a few feet away. He follows me out the door.

"So what's going on and why did Cal stay?" Tristan asks.

"Well, someone is being assessed because they wanna join the MI. Cal stayed cause he's a commander," I reply.

"Oh," Tristan says. "Then why wasn't I assessed?"

"I've got no idea," I reply. "I wasn't assessed, either. That might be cause we were both brought here to kill a specific monster and whatnot."

"It probably is."

We walk down a hallway, talking.

It's been about twenty minutes and I'm getting worried. They haven't come out of the training room. What if something went wrong?

I don't know why I'm worrying so much. It's Sam. He's my friend, I trust him. Just not with Bella.
