AMACon3: Oikos - Day 5 Prompt 5

THAT FORTUNE

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing"

"That can't be nothing if you're spacing out while holding it"

Alden sighs. "It's just a piece of paper..." Maine raises an eyebrow, waiting for his next words "...from a fortune cookie"

"Ah, so Chinese ang lunch mo kanina?"

"Yes, I told you at our snapchats earlier, di ba?"

"Can I see?" Maine asked though she's already inclining her body to take a peak on the piece of paper.

Alden quick stood up and inserts the paper on his back pocket. "No, you can't." He simply holds Maine's hand and proceed to walk out of the studio where they've shoot another TVC. They have dinner plans for a simple date in private.

At the dinner table on a private restaurant,

"Buti hindi Chinese itong pinuntahan natin"

Alden stared back and sighs.

Maine stops eating and stared fully at Alden. "So, sasabihin mo ba o aagawin ko yan sa iyo?"

Alden raises one eyebrow as if daring her...and he should not have. Maine quickly come nears him and slip her hands on his back pocket. He stood up but she just followed him. They circled around the private dinner room. Him walking back, her, hands on his back pocket.

"Akin na!"

"Ayaw!"

"Akin na sabi eh!"

"Ayaw nga!"

She sighs...slowly pulls out her hands as if she's already declaring defeat. Alden relaxes; she took that as a chance and quickly got the piece of paper from his jean's back pocket. "AHA! Finally!"

Alden enveloped both her hands that were about to open the small paper and said, "Before you opened that, I just have to ask..." She stared at him, waiting. "...have I ever told you I Love You?"

Maine knotted her brows and nodded.

"When?" Alden asked.

"Many times"

"Where?"

"At many places"

Alden shrugged. "Did I do it in front of the camera?"

"Why are you asking this? Of course, nasabi mo na, meron sa harap ng camera, meron sa wala. Ang gulo mo Tisoy? Charade ba ito? May test ba ako?"

"Hindi naman, just making sure" He hug her close and breathe deeply. He let go, a little, her, still in his arms, he stared back at her beautiful eyes and says, "I love you. I will always love you."

Maine smile and nodded, "I know. I love you too" She tiptoed and gives him a kiss of reassurance. "So, pwede ko na ba makita ang papel na ito? Ang weird mo ngayon eh."

Alden smile, his signature be-dimpled smile. "Okay"

Maine opened the small piece of paper and reads the fortune written on it: "to let true love remain unspoken is the quickest route to a heavy heart"

Alden looked at her. After reading she simply close the paper and hugged him close. "I Love You. I Always Will"
