1.28.17 AMACon4 - Day 27 : English FF - Finally, a light at the end of a tunnel

Guardian 

"You'll be in charge of her"

"Is it because of my injury?"

"No, it's not that. You're being transferred"

Alden looked at the white feather that landed on his hands. "I am being demoted?"

The messenger smile at him. "No. This is more of like a relax-phase task until your injury is okay"

He stayed silent and stared at the white feather for awhile. He had anticipated this to happen since the injury of his wings from the last fight he had to the other side. He can't use his power fully and he still can't open a dark tunnel which is necessary for fights if you're a warrior angel.

He closed his fist on the feather. He spread his wide shimmering gold colored wings up and looked at it as it change hues from gold to a glowing white color.

He nodded at the messenger which simply smiles at him.

"I hope that you'll get to understand the enormity of this task, Angel Alden"

"Enormity? What do you mean?"

"There are things even I don't know. Things happened for a reason. And this is one of those. Protecting one single human, may take you further than just being a warrior angel."

"I don't understand. But I will do whatever task is given"

"I know, you'll do it. Just remember, in our daily task to protect the living from the dark side, we see some things far more than necessary. That with just one single decision, things roll in motion we may unknowingly started to"

"I know, I know. You're saying that I have to be careful with this one. She's that valuable, huh?"

"I'm just saying, be careful"

"I will"

"Hhmm, so you're the new bodyguard?" Maine asked upon seeing the man his father hired. She was about to go to her shooting location when the man knocked on her condo, introducing himself.

"Yes, Ma'am!"

Maine circled around the guy, she surveyed his form just for the fun of it. This has been a habit of hers whenever a new guard is sent. The man is slim but well-muscled. He is pretty tall too. He is wearing the usual men in black attire with the shades. She can't help but grin. "What's your name?"

"Richard, Ma'am."

She crossed her arms, "Well, first, Richard, stop calling me, Ma'am. Maine is okay"

"Yes, Maine!"

"Second, you can't come wearing this" she said pointing at Richard's outfit. She went to her room and come back with a paper bag in hand. "This are new clothes I bought for my brother, Nico, it yours now" she offered the bag to Richard which he accept reluctantly as he starts to said, "But---"

"No more buts, it's yours now. I can always buy another one for my brother. I will be late if we keep talking and you can't come with me wearing that."

When Richard just look at her, Maine said, "My workmate don't know about my family background so to avoid them asking question, you'll just have to pretend to be my P.A." she turned, sits at one of the sofa in the living room and looked up at Richard. "Please"

Alden felt his heart do a flip hearing Maine's voice. He never expected to have this reaction from her. He was tongue-tied upon seeing her earlier that all he has managed to say is a short introduction and all "Yes , Ma'am" . He didn't know what this mean...but whatever this is, he will face it head on. His wings has not fully recovered yet and until he finished this task it will remained white as it is before he has become a warrior angel. Now, I am a guardian angel. Disguise as her bodyguard. I wonder, who is she to be protected like this?

"Are you going to change or what?" her wonderful voice asked

Alden stiffened and nodded. He felt his face grew warm so he quickly turns toward the bathroom to change.

Once inside the bathroom he sighs. He looked at the mirror in front of him as he put his hands in front of his beating heart. What is wrong with my heart? Is this part of a normal human body reaction? He shake his head as if to stop all the question arising in his mind. No use dwelling about it. Whatever this maybe, I'll ask about it later.

"Woah! Meng, who is that cutie?"

"Is he your boyfriend?"

Maine was greeted by Ms. Ruby and Patring with both a teasing tone. "Ah, no, he's my new P.A."

"Really? I thought you don't want to have one? What made you change your mind all of a sudden?" Patring asked, still with a teasing tone.

Maine felt herself blushed by their teasing. She looked back at Richard that stand outside the dressing room, leaning on the wall, looking at everyone that passed by.

She knew the man looks good in a coat and tie but she did not know he'll look hotter with just a simple white shirt and blue jeans. When Richard removes his sunglasses, she saw his eyes, that mesmerizing dark brown eyes that seems to pull her and made her want to ask him why he has accepted the job to be her bodyguard.

Richard has a certain angelic aura on him that Maine wonder if he can truly protect her if the situation demands it. It's true he has the muscle for it but does he have the quality to hurt someone? Maine asked to her mind as she gazed at Richard, helping the staff now and asking everyone if they need help.

"Richard, I've left something at the stage. I'm just going to get it then we can come home already" Maine shouted before running back to Broadway.

"Wait, Maine!" Richard tried to stop her but she's already inside. Did she forget that I am her P.A. / Bodyguard? Just then he felt a sudden tingling on his stomach, a warning beacon. He twirled around finding the source, but there's no other person in the place. That's when he realized where the warning is coming from. "Maine!"

He opened his invincible white wings. It glow in the air just as his eyes shines, instead of flying through the building he used his power. The power he was not able to use since his injury. Finally! He opened a dark space, a tunnel like thing that void where you can only see the light at the end of it. He saw Maine's face at the end of the dark tunnel space he made. He runs into it with wings open. It quickly transported him right in front of Maine where the lights above fall. He quickly hugged her close and shields his invincible wings around her.

"Alden?!" Maine shouted when she saw him appear out of nowhere in front of her. Then everything happened in an instant. He hugged her and his wide glowing white wings enveloped them.

She stared up at him in awe and whispered, "You have wings"

Alden met her gaze, alarmed that she could see his invincible wings. His wings that should not be seen by the normal human eyes. "You can see my wings?"

"Yes, it glows so bright"

They both stare at each other in silence.

Suddenly, the world shifted, a new pattern starts to unfold. The messenger smile as he looks down to earth.
