1.5.17 AMACon4 : Day 4 - Prompt: Coffee, Tea or Me

It took him one month, three days, eight hours and ten seconds to finally visit me here in Bulacan?! Nakakaasar ah. Samantalang ako, miss na miss na yung masungit na yun. Di ko kaya siya babain?

"Menggay, kanina pa dumating si Detective Richard, aba, may plano ka bang kausapin siya o wala?"

"Opo, Ma. Bababa na po ako"

Ngumiti lang ang nanay niya at lumabas na ng silid.

A month na rin ang nakalipas when she has finally informed her family na nasa Phils. siya. When they found out, halos iyak ng iyak ang mama niya at si tatay at Kuya Nico ay kaagad siyang sinundo from the Faulkerson's house at Laguna even though she insisted na siya na lang ang didiretso sa Bulacan.

"Hindi. Susunduin ka namin dyan. Kailangan kong makilala kung sino ang mga taong tinuluyan mo when you first arrived here. Lagot sa akin ang tita mo, she should have inform us of your arrival"

"Don't blame Tita, Tay. I insist na dito tumuloy...habang di pa ako sure kung papatuluyin nyo ako sa Bulacan"

"Ano bang klaseng sagot yan, Menggay. Of course, you're always welcome here. Ang tagal ka naming hinintay. Mag-usap tayo pagdating namin dyan. Hintayin mo ako" her father says. Sa tono nito batid ni Maine na nagpipigil lang ang tatay niya na mapaiyak tulad ng nanay niya kanina.

Di tuloy niya napigilan na pumatak ang mga luha. God, she miss them. She miss her family. It took a heated argument from a certain detective named Richard Faulkerson Jr. to make her do the calls she's been dreading for the past months.

"Tay, na-miss kita" mahinang bulong niya sa telepono.

"Kami rin anak. Miss na miss ka na namin" iyon lang ang sinabi nito at naputol na ang linya.

Napahinga siya ng malalim, one problem solved. Eh, yung mainitin ang ulong detective kaya? Kailan ko maso-solve ang problema ko sa kanya? Problema nga ba?

Ang tapik ng Ate Coleen niya ang pumukaw sa saglit na pag-reminisce niya. Simula ng dumating siya sa Bulacan, nagpasya ang mga ate at kuya niya na dun muna mag-stay habang nasa Phils. siya. Si Dean na lang kasi talaga ang nakatira na kasama ng mga magulang nila while Ate Nikki, Kuya Nico and Ate Coleen already have their own houses and condos.

Maine was moved by the gesture. She should have known. Her family will always be there for her no matter what.

Kahit ano pang ginawa mo at gagawin sa hinaharap, ang pamilya mo ang di magbabago kailan man, Maine. They will always be there for you. Kung anuman ang di nyo napagkasunduan dati, maraming panahon na ang lumipas, di mo man lang ba sila na-miss? Naalala pa niyang sabi ni Richard nung huling usapan nila.

"Meng, ang gwapo naman pala ni Detective Faulkerson"

"Sumbong kita kay Kuya Mike, sige ka!"

"Di ako natatakot. Binabago mo lang usapan eh. Sigurado ka bang wala kayong something ni Detective?" kumikinang ang nanunuksong mga mata na sabi ng ate niya

Sa halip na sagutin ito ay sinabi niya na lamang na "Hay! Maharap na nga ang lalaking yun" saglit pa siyang nag-ayos ng buhok at damit pambahay na suot bago bumababa.

"Coffee, Tea or Me"

Iyon ang bumungad na tanong kay Richard ng makaharap na niya si Maine sa garden. Finally! Exactly thirty mins. na rin mula ng dumating siya. Binati siya ng nanay at tatay nito saglit bago rin siya iniwan doon.

Nakahalukikip ang dalaga habang nakaharap sa kanya. Walang make-up, naka-ponytail, white cotton shirt at khaki shorts ang suot nito pero di pa rin nabawasan ang ganda. Mas higit pa nga lalong lumitaw iyon sa kasimplehan nito.

Napalunok siya. Her long legs is doing wonders to his body heat. Mahangin naman kahit maaraw pero bakit parang biglang sumobra ang init? Ano nga ba yung tanong niya?

Coffee? Sinalubong niya ang brown eyes nito and felt its mesmerizing pull on him na lagi niyang pilit tinatago. Coffee has caffeine...to keep you awake. Should I tell her, how many nights she has kept me awake just by a thinking of her in our house and now, when she's out of it?

Tea? What? To make me calm? I am calm. or trying to be. There is a storm brewing inside of me since she has been gone. Any moment now the storm can land...and I don't know if I can stop it.

Me? Her? Is she asking if I want her?

Richard stared back at Maine, searching for a clue on what exactly the question is about. And when he saw a spark of what he's looking for he doesn't remember who makes the first move but all he could remember is how truly wonderful it felt kissing Maine.

He smashed his lips against her. Her mouth opened instantly, and their tongue met. A quick rush of intense heat and sweet addictive flavor filled him.

He pressed deeper, needing, yearning. Submitting to a desire he longed for since the day she left their house at Laguna.

Richard felt her arms on his neck and despite the swirling thirst for her, he willed himself to pull out of the kiss. He was always in control and finally seeing her after missing her for days has evidently snapped the last straw of his so called control. He caress her cheeks, his forehead on hers, as he whispered in awe, "Maine"

Maine's close eyes slowly opened. Her desire filled eyes is already a match of his but it was her smile that took his breath away.

"You could have just said you miss me, detective" she chuckled.

That's when he realized, he love her.

AN: I like this story, haha! Obvious ba? Most of the time, I get to picture it out on prompts given.. kaya yan, buhay pa rin sya, haha! One of this days *that is, pag di na ako busy* I'll try to expand Hotelier Maine and Detective Richard's story *sana* ^_^
