I woke up the next morning to the sound of several fists and ''Open ups!" coming from my door. I groaned opening my eyes and looked over at the bed next to me to see Cassidee was still asleep. Lucky she can sleep through all of this commotion.
"CHRIS! OPEN UP!" I heard Angelo yell from the other side of the door.
"Alright!" I yelled back getting up and opening the door to reveal the remaining five members of Motionless in White. "What? It's too early to be pounding on the damn door!"
"Dude, we heard someone left their kid for you!? We want to see her!" Ryan said peeking his head in the door.
"She's not an object! She's a little four-year-old girl, named Cassidee. Right now she's still asleep as I would still like to be doing too. Now when we go to get ready to eat or leave you can meet her. Go back to your rooms."
I closed the door and walked back to my bed getting underneath the covers again. I buried myself deeper into the covers, finding a comfortable position, and closed my eyes. Just as I was about to get to sleep the door burst open and all five of my band members came barging in. I shot up from the bed and seen them toppled over each other on the floor.
Cassidee flew up from her bed as well and looked down at the five of them. She turned her head, looking at me, and then back to the floor. This kid just got here, unaware of her surroundings and these five idiots are already going to traumatize her!
"What the hell?!" I hollered.
"We had to see her! The suspense was killing us." Angelo said walking over to her bed.
Cassidee pulled the covers over her head and hid underneath them.
"Dude! Don't scare her." I said going to her bed. I sat on the side and wrapped my arm around her covered figure. "Cassidee? These are my friends and they'd like to meet you. Can you come out from the covers, please?" I asked.
"No way!" She yelled.
I looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. "Great."
"Maybe I can get her to come out," Josh said stepping in.
He walked to the opposite side of the bed and kneeled beside it. "I promise you that we are not going to scare you. I have candy!"
"That's original, Balz. Way to sound like a total pedophile." Ricky laughed. He pushed Josh aside and sat on the bed. "Remember me? I don't know if you can see me through those covers, but I met you last night. I asked you about your mommy."
Cassidee slowly peeled the covers from her head and looked over at Ricky. She gave him a small smile and then looked around the room at the guys.
"I'm Ricky. This is Angelo, Balz, Devin, and Ryan." He said as he pointed to each one of them, who in return gave a wave and a slight smile.
"Balls?" She questioned Josh's last name.
"It's Josh, but that's my last name just spelled differently." He chucked. "So, what's your name?"
"Cassidee."
"Just spelled differently." I mocked Josh, smiling.
"How old are you?" Devin asked.
Cassidee held up four tiny fingers. "This many."
"She really yours?" Ryan asked looking at me.
"It's what that post-it note said." I picked up the note, handing it to him. "Her mom just abandoned her and said don't bother looking for her. Cassidee said her mom was going somewhere and she couldn't go with her."
"What are we going to do? I mean we can't bring a little kid on tour with us, it wouldn't be right." Angelo said.
"There's only one thing to do and that is to get a paternity test done."
"Where are we going to find one of those places around here? We have to leave here and get back on the bus and go to Indiana for another show!" Ricky freaked.
"Then she has to go with us, it's a given. There's no one around here that knows who she is and I don't think we can just drop her off at the police station, let alone the roadside." I said.
"No! We'll make some phone calls, call a foster home or something?! There is no way she can come with us, Chris," Angelo said taking a seat on my bed.
"She wasn't a problem last night, went out like a light. We'll get to Indiana, find one of those clinics, and set up an appointment. If she's mine, she's staying."
"What if she's not?" Devin asked.
"We'll figure something out."
